    Abstract: A battery pack, including a casing receiving a battery module, the battery module comprising a plurality of batteries, a first cooling unit installed in a surface of the casing and introducing a coolant into the casing; and a second cooling unit installed in an opposite surface of the casing and discharging the coolant introduced into the casing by the first cooling unit to the outside of the casing, thus causing the coolant to flow in the casing, wherein the batteries of the battery module are laminated in a predetermined direction inside the casing, with a space defined between the batteries so that the coolant can pass through the space between the batteries; and an end of the space of the battery module is open toward the first cooling unit and an opposite end of the space is open toward the second cooling unit.

    Abstract: An apparatus and a method for decoding bits of a received signal in a communication system are provided. The method includes determining path metrics of respective states in a trellis corresponding to the received signal, selecting a start state in the trellis for a traceback in a last window of the trellis, repeating the traceback at least twice within the last window, and when the repeating of the traceback is completed, determining the decoded bits of the received signal using a survived path of a last traceback.

    Abstract: An apparatus and a method for estimating a Noise and Interference (NI) power in a communication system are provided. The method includes, calculating average values of impulse responses according to ranging codes, through use of a ranging signal sequence received through a resource allocated to a ranging channel, arranging the average values of the impulse responses according to ranging codes in order of the highest value to the lowest value, and multiplying a ranging code, which corresponds to an impulse response having an (x+1)th peak value among the arranged average values of the impulse responses, by a specific threshold value, and estimating the NI power, wherein “x” represents a number of ranging codes which can be simultaneously received by one ranging channel.

The method includes calculating a total sum of absolute values corresponding to Log Likelihood Ratio (LLR) values of received data, generating a first value obtained by multiplying the total sum of the absolute values by a predetermined threshold value, performing iterative decoding with respect to the LLR values of the received data, generating a survived path metric value having a maximum value among all path metric values as a decoded result and generating decoded data, comparing the first value with the survived path metric value, and determining whether the decoded data has suitable reliability according to the compared result.
