  • Publication number: 20240377636
Abstract: A head-mounted display including multiple displays tiled together is provided. A first display may include an active region and an inactive region. A second display may be aligned with the inactive region. The first display and the second display may have different resolutions and may present visual information with different display qualities based on their respective resolutions. For example, the first display may include a lower resolution than the second display. The inactive region may be centered in the first display, and the second display may be centered with respect to the first display. The head-mounted display may provide a continuous image(s) (or video(s)) with a high resolution on the second display, while providing the remainder of the image(s) on the low resolution first display. Based on the multiple displays being tiled, the multiple displays may present one or more images, or one or more videos, in a non-overlapping manner.

  • Publication number: 20240300432
Abstract: An airbag chute-integrated crash pad assembly includes: a main core that includes a door portion expanding when an airbag expands, and a cover portion mounted on a dash board. In particular, the main core is formed with a reinforcement portion extending downward from a lower surface of the cover portion, and the door portion and the cover portion are separated by a hinge groove that is formed in a lower surface of the main core and forms an expansion line. The reinforcement portion is combined with an airbag accommodation body that accommodates a passenger airbag (PAB). Thus, process optimization can be realized by omitting a process of machining a score and fusing a PAB chute, and also a problem of damage to the PAB chute can be solved.

  • Patent number: 12087222
Abstract: Embodiments relate to a display device with subpixels that share switch transistors that selectively connect sources of driving transistors to a high voltage source. Further, part of reset transistors or part of a select transistor may be shared across multiple subpixels. The reset transistor selectively connects an anode of an organic light emitting diode (OLED) to a low voltage source. The select transistor selectively passes through pixel data from a data line when a gate signal is received via a gate line. Driver transistors and capacitors of the subpixels are independent and not shared. In this way, the dimensions of the subpixels may be reduced and enable increase in the density of the pixels.

  • Publication number: 20240278767
Abstract: A control device for a hybrid electric vehicle includes an engine, a drive motor that drives the vehicle by assisting the engine, a battery that provides energy to the drive motor, and a processor. The processor may determine whether there is an attempt to fuel the vehicle. When it is determined that there is the attempt to fuel the vehicle, the processor may enter a refueling mode to maintain a state in which the engine is turned off, and when refueling is completed, the processor may release the refueling mode to turn on the engine according to an engine starting condition.

  • Patent number: 12057067
Abstract: Embodiments relate to a display device including pixels that compensate a threshold voltage of a driving transistor using the body effect. Pixel data for the driving transistor increases the source-bulk voltage of the driving transistor during a compensation period as a result of the body effect. A separate reference voltage is not received at the pixel for the purpose of compensating the threshold voltage of the driving transistor. The increased source-bulk voltage is then used in an emission period of the pixel to compensate for the threshold voltage of the driving transistor.

  • Patent number: 11910643
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a display system includes forming a display element having a display active area over a silicon backplane, forming a display driver integrated circuit (DDIC), and bonding the display element to the display driver integrated circuit (DDIC). The display active area may include a light emitting diode such as an organic light emitting diode (OLED). Separately forming the display and the display circuitry may simplify formation of the OLED and allow for a higher density control interface between the display and the DDIC.

  • Publication number: 20230368737
Abstract: Disclosed herein are methods and corresponding systems and devices for compensating burn-in in an electronic display. When the electronic display is divided into multiple regions, each region can have a separate compensation parameter associated with it. The compensation parameter can be determined through estimating pixel degradation based on how the region was used over the lifetime of the electronic display, for instance, the brightness of images previously displayed in the region. Although each region may have its own compensation parameter, burn-in compensation can be performed by selecting one compensation parameter from among a set of stored parameters for use as a global compensation parameter applied across all the display pixels, i.e., the entire display area. The global compensation parameter can be selected based on which region a user is looking at. Accordingly, a display system can include or be coupled to an eye-tracking unit that monitors eye movement.

  • Publication number: 20230317006
Abstract: Embodiments relate to a display device including pixels that compensate a threshold voltage of a driving transistor, the pixels arranged in a plurality of rows. The gate of the driving transistor of each pixel is coupled to a pixel data switch and a reference voltage switch, configured to selectively provide pixel data provided via a data line and a reference voltage provided via a separate reference voltage line to the gate of the driving transistor, respectively. As pixel data and the reference voltage are provided to the driving transistor via separate lines, the compensation period of the pixel may overlap in time with a data writing period of pixels of a previous row of the display device, increasing the rate at which the display device is able to program the pixels of each row.

  • Patent number: 11727892
Abstract: Described is a system including a display, a display controller, and control logic communicatively coupled to the display. The display controller determines, based on coordinates of a focus point on the display, boundaries of a first image region and a second image region in an output image to be rendered. The focus point is determined through tracking an eye movement of a user viewing the display. The first image region has a higher resolution than the second image region. The display controller is configured to send image data together with control signals to the control logic. The control signals cause the control logic to render the output image on the display using the image data. As part of rendering the second image region, the control logic outputs a shared signal onto signal lines that are coupled to light sources in a group of adjacent rows or columns.

  • Patent number: 11686945
Abstract: A method including determining a maximum luminance location of a display based on a field of view of an eye of a user of the display, and driving a plurality of light sources in the display based on locations of the plurality of light sources with respect to the maximum luminance location of the display. The plurality of light sources is controlled to have different luminance levels in different display zones corresponding to different zones on the retina of the eye of the user. In some examples, the display zones of the display system that have higher luminance levels can be dynamically changed based on the field of view or the gaze direction of the eye of the user.
