The voice and data integration apparatus includes: a digital signal processor (DSP) for decoding a packet into PCM (pulse code modulation) data; and a host driver for receiving one or more packets from an Internet protocol (IP) network for a predetermined time, storing the received packets in storage regions in the order of sequence numbers, and transmitting the packets to the DSP in the order of the sequence numbers when the predetermined time has elapsed. Accordingly, a quality of voice in voice communication using the voice and data integration apparatus is guaranteed to a maximal extent.

    Abstract: A codec automatic setting system of an IAD in a DSL network includes a codec table, a codec negotiator, a codec detector, and a codec selector. The codec table stores at least one codec list. The codec negotiator incorporates an applicable codec list from the codec table into a call request message, transmits the same to a reception IAD, and receives a response message when an arbitrary terminal requests a call. The codec detector detects a codec list from the response message. The codec selector compares the codec list of the reception IAD with the codec list stored in the codec table, and selects a settable codec. An automatic codec switching function in an IAD system of a network supporting a DSL automatically switches a codec into an optimum codec according to a DSL connection band and forming and release of a VoIP call, thereby securing an optimum communication quality for an Internet phone.

    Abstract: A method for processing a SCSI bus fault in a SCSI system which has an initiator device and a target device interconnected via a SCSI bus. In response to a control command, the initiator device requests the target device to execute a specific SCSI command. Then, the initiator device processes a normal script phase in response to the SCSI command to transfer the SCSI command to the target device over the SCSI bus. If the fault occurs on the SCSI bus while the SCSI command is transferred to the target device, the initiator device retries the transfer of the SCSI command to the target device a predetermined number of times. Therefore, data damage in the target device due to the SCSI bus fault can be reduced to a minimum.
