  • Publication number: 20090074804
Abstract: The present invention relates to isolated influenza virus strains suitable for increased vaccine production for mammals. The influenza virus strains contain at least one modified influenza protein that results in increased production of the influenza virus from a mammalian host cell, such as a vero cell. The present invention also relates to the vaccines produced from the influenza virus strains. The present invention further relates to isolated modified influenza proteins and isolated nucleic acid molecules that encode for the modified influenza proteins.

  • Patent number: 7068502
Abstract: A mounting apparatus for disk drive devices includes a bracket (30), an operation member (50), and a pair of rails (70). The bracket has a first sidewall (34) and a second sidewall (36) each defining a first retaining hole (342, 362) and a second retaining hole (346, 366). The second sidewall has a protrusion (42). The operation member is slidably mounted on the second sidewall. A hook (66) is formed on the operation member corresponding to the protrusion of the bracket. Each rail protrudes two locating posts (74) corresponding to the first and second retaining holes. In assembly, the operation member is in a holding position in which the locating posts of the rails are retained in the corresponding first and second retaining holes and the hook clasps the protrusion. In disassembly, the operation member is in a released position, and the hook is released from the protrusion.

  • Patent number: 7031150
Abstract: A mounting apparatus for mounting a data storage device (10) to a chassis (20), includes a drive bracket (30), a support bracket (40) received in the drive bracket and a latch (50) attached to a side wall (34) of the drive bracket. A plurality of slots (341, 342) is defined in both side walls of the drive bracket. Each slot communicates with an upper edge of the side wall via an entry. The support bracket includes a base (42) and a pair of side plates (44) for receiving the data storage device therebetween. A plurality of pins (442) extends outwardly from the side plates for slideably engaging in the slots of the drive bracket. The latch has a main body (51) and a resilient fastening portion (53). The fastening portion removably engages with the corresponding pin therefore securing the data storage device in the drive bracket.

  • Patent number: 6265798
Abstract: A motor having a magnetic bearing comprises a base formed with a bearing seat; a stator fixed to the base; a rotor provided with a rotation shaft and rotatable with respect to the stator by magnetic forces generated from excitation; a bearing fixed to the bearing seat of the base for receiving the rotation shaft of the rotor; and a magnetic element pair including a first element and a second element. The first element is telescopically interference-fitted on the rotation shaft, the second element is fixed relative to the bearing seat and lets the rotation shaft insert therethrough, and a magnetic force is generated between the first element and the second element. When the rotor rotates and an external force acts on the rotor in a direction, a magnetic force between the magnetic element pair counteracts the external force to achieve an axial positioning effect and avoid the contact wear.

  • Patent number: 5961482
Abstract: This invention relates to development of an iontotherapeutic device for regulated transdermal systemic administration of ionizable pharmaceutical compounds. It also provides an iontotherapeutic process for transdermal administration of ionized pharmaceuticals, particularly those which are otherwise transdermally absorbed to a small degree or not all, such as peptide pharmaceuticals, for example, insulins. The invention also relates to unit dose forms, for example, those in which an ionized pharmaceutical is dispersed in a hydrophilic polymer. The unit dose is adapted to be assembled as part of the pharmaceutical reservoir electrode, so that the ionized pharmaceutical will be delivered transdermally and then be absorbed systemically when the iontotherapeutic device is in operation.

  • Patent number: 5107123
Abstract: Provided is an ultraviolet radiation device useful to measure intensity of the ultraviolet radiation in a selected environment which has an optical-electrical converter having an optical means for expanding an ultraviolet radiation input angle of the converter, a temperature sensor and an electrical signal conditioner having means to generate an ultraviolet intensity signal which is independent of ambient temperature. A preferred device is for personal use and permits allocation of measured daily doses of solar ultraviolet radiation over multiple days to provide a predetermined total cumulative amount of ultraviolet radiation and a desired tanning of skin during sunbathing. The preferred device issues a signal when the daily allocated dose is reached. The invention also provides by using the device of the invention a process to determine prevailing ultraviolet radiation levels and cumulative amounts and a controlled process for tanning.
