  • Publication number: 20080266393
Abstract: The invention relates to an Infra Red Closed Circuit Television (IR CCTV) surveillance camera equipped with IR LEDs that can irradiate IR light on a subject, properly illuminating the entire subject according to the distance to the subject, by moving the IR LEDs back from the subject and retracting the LEDs into reflecting sections when the subject is at a far distance, to thereby concentrate the IR light at a distance via a focused, concentrated, and/or collimated beam. The camera moves forward the IR LEDs toward the subject when the subject is nearby, such that the LEDs protrude from the reflecting sections to provide a dispersed beam to properly illuminate the entire nearby subject.

  • Patent number: 7133364
Abstract: An internet telephone communication system including a voice transmitting and receiving parts and a method of operating the system are disclosed. The voice transmitting part retransmits voice data packets at least once through an internet network according to a retransmission frequency information packet received from the voice receiving part. The voice receiving part transmits the retransmission frequency information packet to the voice transmitting part in order to request to retransmit the voice data packets R times, where R is determined based a data loss rate calculated. By retransmitting the voice data packets, the transmitting rate of the data and the corresponding VOIP conversation quality are greatly improved.

  • Patent number: 7099274
Abstract: The present invention relates to a VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) system and a method for preventing data loss in the same. A receiving system in the VoIP system decides a hold time corresponding to the loss rate of compressed voice data, and provides the hold time to a transmission system. The transmission system adjusts voice input speed depending on the hold time. Therefore, the transmission system can regulate compressed voice data generation rate therein not to exceed a designated channel capacity.

  • Publication number: 20060012737
Abstract: A phase delay element includes a brightness enhancement layer intermediate a reflection layer and an artificial light. The brightness enhancement layer is defined by a first surface and an opposite second surface. The first surface faces the reflection layer. A first light from the artificial light is incident on the second surface. A phase of the first light is delayed by about ¼ phase (?/4) so that a second light is emitted from the first surface toward the reflection layer. The second light is reflected from the reflection layer so that a third light is emitted from the reflection layer toward the first surface. A phase of the third light is delayed by about ¼ phase (?/4) so that a fourth light is emitted from the second surface. Therefore, a portion of the artificial light, which is reflected from the reflection layer, is recycled to improve a luminance of an LCD apparatus.

  • Patent number: 5661076
Abstract: A method for non-active processing of an etched surface in a vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser diode is provided. In order to obtain a stable single fundamental transverse mode, at a low temperature of 100 to 300 degrees, an amorphous GaAs is deposited on a surface of an etched active layer and an etched cavity. Also, a bottom emitting laser is provided which is formed by, with the metal electrode as a mask, etching the top mirror layer and the active layer, depositing the amorphous GaAs onto the etched portion and planarizing the deposited GaAs layer and depositing p-type metal pad over the amorphous GaAs around the formed laser device. Also, a top emission type laser is provided which is formed by, with a photoresist as a mask, etching the top mirror layer and the active layer, planarizing the GaAs layer and depositing p-type metal pad containing a window for light emission which is made smaller than laser area over the amorphous GaAs around the formed laser device.

  • Patent number: 5554061
Abstract: The present invention is a vertical resonant surface-emitting laser, and more particularly, a method for making a micro-laser that can be emitted to the upper surface of resonance structures by forming electrodes on the side surface of the resonance structures. By forming the electrodes injecting the current to the active layer on the side surface of resonators, the electrodes may be formed more easily on the fine micro-laser. Moreover, the current is more efficiently injected to the inside the active layer due to the side electrode surrounding an upper glass layer and emitter, and the laser may be operated even with a smaller start current, and serial resistance of the resonators may be reduced.
