Patent number: 7995156Abstract: A display substrate includes a substrate, signal lines and test lines. The substrate includes a pixel region where pixels are disposed, a buffer region surrounding the pixel region and a grinding region surrounding the buffer region. The signal lines pass through the buffer region from the grinding region to provide the pixels with a driving signal. The test lines are disposed on the grinding region and the buffer region, respectively, so that the test lines intersect the signal lines in a lattice structure. Each of the test lines is electrically connected to the signal lines of a first number calculated by dividing a second number of the signal lines by a third number of the test lines. Thus, the performance of the pixels used for displaying an image may be tested more precisely.Type: GrantFiled: September 2, 2005Date of Patent: August 9, 2011Assignee: Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd.Inventors: Kun-Jong Lee, Chan-Hyang Lim, Min-Young Won, Won-Hee Lee, In-Cheol Song

Patent number: 7842345Abstract: An inkjet method of printing an alignment layer is presented. The method entails depositing drops of an alignment liquid on a substrate while moving a plurality of inkjet heads and/or the substrate relative to each other to form a first dropping line on the substrate. The method also entails rotating a printing stage on which the substrate is mounted, and depositing drops of the alignment liquid on the substrate after forming the fist dropping line to form a second dropping line. Since the printing stage is elevated and rotated, the drops of the alignment liquid are easily deposited in a grid pattern to decrease the space between adjacent drops. If desired, drops may be skipped to avoid depositing the alignment liquid multiple times on the same location on the substrate. With this method, the planarization time of the alignment layers is shortened.Type: GrantFiled: July 12, 2005Date of Patent: November 30, 2010Assignee: Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd.Inventors: Jong-Sung Bae, Jin-Soo Jung, Doo-Han Chung, Min-Young Won, Kun-Jong Lee

Patent number: 7608988Abstract: A piezoelectric unit includes a first piezoelectric member having a tubular shape, a second piezoelectric member inserted into a first opening of the first piezoelectric member, and a voltage applying member applying a driving voltage to the first and second piezoelectric members. An orifice plate includes a body through which first nozzle openings corresponding to the first piezoelectric member and second nozzle openings corresponding to the second piezoelectric member are formed. An elastic member is disposed between the first and second nozzle openings and the piezoelectric unit. A shape of the elastic member is changed in accordance with a changed shape of the piezoelectric unit for jetting ink through the first and second nozzle openings. Thus, a nozzle pitch of a printer head may be reduced.Type: GrantFiled: March 10, 2006Date of Patent: October 27, 2009Assignee: Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd.Inventors: Jong-Sung Bae, Min-Young Won

Patent number: 5400157Abstract: A color filter substrate for a liquid crystal display LCD of which a bad adhesion in a pattern terminal is reduced and an electrode pattern can be easily distinguished, is disclosed. Black matrixes and an indium tin oxide are formed on a glass substrate by using chromium and color filter layers having red, green and blue dyes are formed. A protective film and an ITO transparent electrode layer are deposited on the black matrix and the colors filter layers to be overlapped on a part of each pattern terminal. Thus, a liquid crystal display element can be realized such that the adhesive strength of the ITO can be improved. Also, as the pattern terminal has chromium, a tape automated bonding integrated circuit can be advantageously distinguished at the following process step of mounting it, making the automation of process possible and improving the productivity.Type: GrantFiled: November 17, 1993Date of Patent: March 21, 1995Assignee: Samsung Display Device Co., Ltd.Inventor: Min-young Won
