The present invention relates to a method for producing a heat-tolerant tomato plant comprising introducing a genetic mutation into a tomato plant, wherein the mutation improves the pollen viability and the capacity for developing seed-containing fruits under high temperature conditions compared with wild-type plant; and a heat-tolerant tomato plant into which the mutation has been introduced.
