A particle-like micro ID chip storing at least an identification photograph information of the passport owner comparable with the identification photograph 2 printed on the passport body 3 is embedded in the passport body. Whether a passport is counterfeited or not is judged by comparing the identification photograph 2 printed on the passport body 3 with the photograph information of the passport owner read out from the ID chip 4 and displayed on a screen.

The personal identification data stored in the ID chip 4 can be read out using a dedicated ID chip reader and displayed on a screen.
