    Abstract: Provided are a novel nitrogen-containing heterocyclic derivative having a specific structure and an organic electroluminescence device having an organic thin film layer composed of one or a plurality of layers including at least a light emitting layer and interposed between a cathode and an anode, in which at least one layer of the organic thin film layer contains the nitrogen-containing heterocyclic derivative alone or as a component of a mixture. As a result, a novel nitrogen-containing heterocyclic derivative useful as a component of an organic electroluminescence device can be provided, and an organic electroluminescence device being driven at a low voltage and having high luminous efficiency, excellent electron transporting property, and high emission luminance can be realized by using the nitrogen-containing heterocyclic derivative in at least one layer of its organic thin film layer.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a light-emitting material for organic electroluminescent (EL) devices which is composed of an asymmetric anthracene derivative of a specific structure.
