  • Publication number: 20090177698
Abstract: A client tracking mechanism has a log file analysis routine that may generate two tables, one having a licensable entity designator and last logged off time, and the other having a current session designator. The first table may be aggregated by a server that may collect data from multiple client tracking mechanisms to determine a licensable entity's sessions across multiple servers. The client tracking mechanism may save and resume analysis from the last analyzed log file entry, and may be able to track sessions that are both shorter and longer than the time between each analysis. In many embodiments, a licensable entity may be a user or a device, when a license arrangement is configured in a per-user or per-device basis.

  • Publication number: 20090161595
Abstract: A system and method for a novel broadcasting scheme (NBS) in a wireless local area network are described, which can operate with or without a network connection. The system permits transmission of application-specific data through a specific field in a beacon frame, the Service Set Identity (SSID). By implementing a NBS Processor in an AP and a NBS Parser in stations, the AP can broadcast application-specific data while the stations can automatically act upon the receipt of the broadcast.

  • Publication number: 20080317866
Abstract: A method of manufacture of ECM microparticles incorporating bioactive molecules for drug delivery has been developed, using a modified emulsification method or a water-in-oil-phase-separation method. The microspheres are photochemically crosslinked to control the release of the bioactive molecules for better drug delivery usage without compromising the biocompatibility of the crosslinked structures. The method uses mild fabrication conditions and simple processes, no toxic chemical crosslinking reagent, which may cause cytotoxicity and calcification after implantation, no organic solvents, which may reduce drug availability and bioactivity, and no vigorous stirring action, which may fragmentize material with poor shape and mechanical stability and thus destabilize the emulsion. The resulting microparticles or microspheres are of controlled size, controlled release, highly biocompatible, and useful for drug delivery as well as cell culture.

  • Patent number: 7457409
Abstract: A scheme for performing secure communications in a wireless local network. In one aspect of the invention, software hosted on a host processing unit maintains multiple queues. A networking module adapted to communicate with the host processing unit includes corresponding FIFO buffers to service the queues. The networking module also comprises an arbiter and a security engine. The arbiter is responsible for determining which queue is to be serviced next contingent upon a priority scheme. The security engine preferably incorporates a cipher performing encryption and decryption in a sequential or chain mode. Once one of the queues is granted by the arbiter, the security engine fetches data from the granted queue and then encrypts or decrypts the data using the cipher.

  • Publication number: 20080205088
Abstract: A modular-based, zero-current-switched (ZCS), isolated full-bridge boost converter with multiple inputs is disclosed. Each converter module is used to match the connected input source and control the amount of power drawn from the source. The power from various sources are combined together and delivered to the load through a multiphase transformer. The input inductor of each boost-derived converter module keeps the input current constant and acts as a current source to drive the multiphase transformer through a phase-shifted-controlled full bridge converter. By connecting an auxiliary circuit across the full-bridge input in each module, the transformer leakage inductance and output capacitance of the switching devices are used to create resonant paths for facilitating zero-current-switching of all switching devices.

  • Publication number: 20080206034
Abstract: A mobile computer structure having a rotatable screen is provided, which includes a main body, a rotating arm, and a panel. The rotating arm is pivotally disposed on the main body and is pivotally rotated between a first position and a second position. The panel has a display surface and a casing surface and is pivotally connected to the rotating arm. When the rotating arm pivotally rotates to the first position, the panel is attached to the main body with the display surface facing the main body, and when the rotating arm pivotally rotates to the second position, the panel is attached to the main body with the casing surface, thus making the display surface or the casing surface optionally face outside to achieve the purpose of protection or using.

  • Publication number: 20080198537
Abstract: A case of an extending base for an electronic device includes a body, a cover, and at least two link elements. The body has a hollow. The cover is disposed aside the hollow. Each link element has a first pivot part, a first block part, a second pivot part, and a first elastic member. The first pivot part has a first end pivoted on the body and a second end connected to the first block part. The second pivot part has a first end pivoted on the cover and a second end connected to the first block part. The first elastic member provides a force to push the first block part from a first position to a second position so as to correspondingly push the cover. Herein, when the first block part is positioned at the first position, the first block part is separated from the body and the cover covers the body. In addition, when the first block part is positioned at the second position, the first block part is in contact with the body and the cover is separated from the body.
