  • Publication number: 20230310320
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a soluble microcarrier, including soluble polymer including a plurality of soluble monomers binding to each other with a reducing crosslinking agent. The soluble microcarrier of present disclosure facilitates the attachment of cells, and reducing agents can facilitate the detachment of cells. When the soluble microcarrier is in contact with a reducing agent, the soluble microcarrier degrades.

  • Publication number: 20190221862
Abstract: A method is provided to fabricate a Nafion separating membrane for achieving low impedance and low permeability. Sodium 4-styrenesulfonate (NASS) is grafted to the surface of the membrane through an oxygen plasma induced grafting technique. A modified Nafion-g-NASS membrane is thus fabricated for a vanadium redox flow battery (VRFB) with the permeability of vanadium ions reduced and the conductivity of protons improved. The modified membrane shows higher ion exchange capacity and permeating conductivity along with enhanced voltage efficiency (VE), coulombic efficiency (CE) and energy efficiency (EE). Due to the low permeability of vanadium ions, the VRFB with the modified membrane shows slower self-discharge than that with the pristine Nafion membrane. After 200 cycles of charging and discharging, the VE, CE and EE remain stable. In particular, the modified VRFB shows a higher rate of capacity retention than the pristine VRFB.

  • Patent number: 7752429
Abstract: A computer system comprising an embedded system and a main computer system is provided. The embedded system comprises a memory device and a virtual firmware hub. The memory device is for storing a boot code of the main computer system. The virtual firmware hub is connected to the main computer system. The virtual firmware hub is for reading the boot code. As the main computer system is booted, the main computer system inputs a loading command to the virtual firmware hub. The virtual firmware hub reads the boot code stored in the memory device according to the loading command and outputs the boot code to the main computer system accordingly.

  • Publication number: 20080208315
Abstract: A stent for coronary vessels, having a surface of multilayer immobilized structures, includes a stent body and a number of polyelectrolyte complex (PEC) layers stacking and being immobilized on the surface of the stent body, in which the PEC layer is formed of a polymer layer and an anticoagulant layer. The coronary stent is capable of effectively improving the hemocompatibility longevity over conventional stent using surface encapsulation of an anticoagulant layer for hemocompatibility improvement. Furthermore, the coronary stent can be use as a drug-eluting coronary stent, thus allowing for the time-releasing of drugs, and further preventing the thickening of vascular smooth muscle cells for causing vascular thrombosis.

  • Publication number: 20080071962
Abstract: A device connection method for connecting a host having a peripheral bus to a peripheral device by the peripheral bus is provided. Firstly, as the peripheral device is connected to a peripheral gateway, a first information signal is outputted through a communication link. Next, a virtual device is mapped to the peripheral device in response to the first information signal, wherein the virtual device is compactable with the peripheral bus. Afterwards, as the peripheral bus of the host is connected to the virtual device, a second information signal is outputted through the peripheral bus in response to the first information signal to inform the host of a connection event taking place at the virtual device, so that the host enables the peripheral bus to install the peripheral device through the virtual device, wherein the host is connected to the peripheral device through the peripheral bus and the communication link.

  • Publication number: 20080040596
Abstract: An embedded system includes a CPU, a section-swapping control device, a memory device and a section mapping device. The CPU has a boot code initializing address. The section-swapping control device detects a boot condition of the CPU and thus outputs a swap signal. The memory device includes a first memory section and a second memory section for respectively storing a first boot code and a second boot code. The section mapping device is coupled to the CPU and the memory device. The section mapping device receives the swap signal and thus maps the boot code initializing address to an initial bit address of one of the first and second memory sections such that the CPU is booted according to one of the first and second boot codes.
