  • Patent number: 11777209
Abstract: Technologies directed to a hybrid-feed network of a parallel feed network and series-fed sub-arrays are described. The hybrid-feed network includes a parallel feed network and multiple groups of series-fed tiles, each tile including a beamforming integrated circuit (IC) and a set of antenna elements.

  • Patent number: 11664593
Abstract: Technologies directed to arranging antenna elements in a triangular pattern on an antenna module of a phased array antenna are described. The phased array antenna includes a support structure and a first antenna module coupled to the support structure. The first antenna module element has a rectangular shape and includes a first set of antenna elements arranged as a first row and a second row within the rectangular shape. An antenna element of the first row and two antenna elements of the second row form a triangular pattern. Two adjacent antenna elements of the first set of antenna elements are separated by a first distance. Each antenna element of the first set of antenna elements has a first size that is less than half of the first distance.

  • Patent number: 11609324
Abstract: Synthetic aperture radar transmit and receive antenna systems and methods of transmitting and receiving radar signals are disclosed. In one embodiment, a transmit and receive antenna system includes a transmit antenna array configured to transmit a plurality of radio frequency transmit signals, the transmit antenna array including a plurality of patch antenna elements mounted to a printed circuit board, each patch antenna element belonging to a subarray, and one or more power amplifiers, each power amplifier feeding a subarray of the patch antenna elements, and a reflectarray receive antenna configured to receive radio frequency signals including a plurality of reflectarray antenna elements mounted to a printed circuit board, at least one antenna feed configured to receive radio frequency signals reflected from the plurality of reflectarray antenna elements, and at least one low noise amplifier electrically connected to the at least one antenna feed.

  • Patent number: 11322838
Abstract: Technologies directed to calibrating phased array antennas are described. A processing device of a communication device causes a first radio to send a first signal via a first antenna element. The first signal has a set of tones. Each tone of the set of tones has a frequency within a fixed frequency range. The processing device causes a second radio to receive a second signal via a second antenna element. The second signal is a response to the first signal. The processing device determines that there is a difference between the second signal and a reference signal. The processing device adjusts at least one of a phase parameter value, a gain parameter value, or a time-delay parameter value of a radio frequency component based on the difference.
