    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to obtaining a data recording. The data recording may correspond to sensor data that includes frame data corresponding to one or more frames that depict a scene as represented by the frame data. The frame data of the one or more frames may be compared against an annotated dataset that may include known features and annotations corresponding to the known features. One or more features in the one or more frames may be identified based at least on the comparison between the frame data and the annotated dataset. A subset of the one or more frames including one or more features associated with one or more operational domains may be determined. Additionally, the subset of frames may be provided to a detection model as training data.

Geometric properties may be extracted from the SD map data to form a geometric representation. The geometric representation may be processed to determine locations to insert traffic management components to simulate traffic patterns using one or more rule-based approaches. The simulated traffic patterns may be used to generate a road layer level mapping of one or more segments of the SD map data that can be converted into HD map data.

This can include, for example, tasks such as performing quality checks for high definition (HD), standard definition (SD), and/or navigational maps. In the mapping context, a language model can be trained using a large set of rules relevant to the mapping domain, in order to become a domain expert. In addition to training the language model on domain-specific rules and data, the language model can be further trained based at least in part on human feedback, such as corrections made to map data by an authorized human.

A language model-generated representation can comply with real-world rules and constructs, and can account for omissions or errors in the input data based upon known relationships and semantics for various objects in the environment. One or more language models can be used to not only identify potential issues in the map data, but also to make recommendations for modifications and/or to generate plaintext descriptions of the issues, modifications, or recommendations to assist a human reviewer in addressing the issues.

The system generates lane lines designating lanes of roads based on, for example, mapping of camera image pixels with high probability of being on lane lines into a three-dimensional space, and locating/connecting center lines of the lane lines. The system builds a large connected network of lane elements and their connections as a lane element graph. The system also represents traffic signs based on camera images and detection and ranging sensor depth maps. These landmarks are used in building a high definition map that allows autonomous vehicles to safely navigate through their environments.
