    Abstract: In order to avoid system malfunctions, the present invention discloses a method of improving the reset mechanism of radio link re-establishment timers for a user equipment in a wireless communications system. The method includes performing a cell update procedure according to a radio link failure event, stopping a plurality of re-establishment timers after responding to a CELL UPDATE CONFIRM message, and clearing a variable including the expiration states of the plurality of re-establishment timers.
