  • Patent number: 7334297
Abstract: A hinge assembly (100) for a foldable electronic device includes a shaft (1), a housing (5) defining a guiding groove (56) therein, a spring (2), and a pin (7). A first end of the spring is coupled to the shaft, and an opposite second end of the spring is coupled to the housing. A first end of the pin is coupled to the shaft, and an opposite second end of the pin is slidable along the guiding groove of the housing. The shaft is rotatable relative to the housing between a first position where the second end of the pin is located in a first position of the guiding groove and a second position where the second end of the pin is located in a second position of the guiding groove. The hinge assembly is thus integrated into a complete unit which is capable of providing a wide range of rotation.

  • Publication number: 20060154701
Abstract: A hinge assembly (100) includes a can (11), an elastic member (20), a shaft (31) and a pin (40). The can has a body (111) and a center cavity (113). The body defines a guiding slit (114) therein, and the guiding slit communicates with the center cavity. The shaft defines a pin hole (318) therein, and the shaft is partly received in the center cavity of the can. The elastic member is received in the center cavity of the can with one end abutting the can and an opposite end abutting the shaft. One end of the pin is received in the guiding slit of the can and is movable along the guiding slit, and an opposite end of the pin is engaged in the pin hole of the shaft.

  • Publication number: 20060045651
Abstract: A screw cover (100) for a screw hole (32) includes a stretchable cap (10), and a post (20) movably engaged therein. The cap includes an end (12) having an opening (122) and three arms (14) extending therefrom. The arms have three longitudinal slits (144) therebetween. The post has two wedges (242) slidably engaged in two of the slits. A diameter of the cap is no larger than a diameter of the screw hole, and a diameter of the post is larger than a diameter of the opening. In use, the post is interferingly inserted into the opening and enlarges the cap, which engages the screw cover in the screw hole. In removal, the post is released from the opening, and the cap returns to its original size. The screw cover can then be easily removed from the screw hole. Attachment and removal of the screw cover is easy and safe.

  • Patent number: 6985115
Abstract: An automatic antenna (100) for a portable electronic device includes a shaft (20), a hollow securing element (30), a sliding element (50) having a plurality of sliding arms (54) symmetrically disposed on an outer wall thereof, a hollow rotating element (60), a housing (80), and a spring (70) disposed between the rotating element and the housing. The securing element has a plurality of blocks (320) symmetrically disposed on an inner wall thereof. The blocks define a plurality of slots (3200) therebetween. The sliding element defines an end surface (56). The rotating element includes a peripheral cam portion (61). A plurality of projections (604) protrudes from a periphery of the cam portion. The shaft extends through the securing element, the sliding element, the rotating element, the spring, and the housing in that order. The sliding arms can slide within the slots, and the projections can slide in the slots.
