  • Patent number: 10375286
Abstract: An imaging device and an imaging method are provided. An incident beam is separated into a first spectroscopic beam and a second spectroscopic beam by a spectroscopic unit and the first spectroscopic beam and the second spectroscopic beam are respectively incident on a first imaging module and a second imaging module. One of a phase detection autofocus (PDAF) mode and a contrast detection autofocus (CDAF) mode of the first imaging module is activated based on a brightness of an ambient light source. The first imaging module and the second imaging module are activated to shoot at a partially overlapping field of view (FOV) to obtain a first image and a second image. The first image and the second image are superimposed to obtain a composite image.

  • Patent number: 9075474
Abstract: A portable electronic device including a touch screen, a micro processing unit, a central processor and a display is provided. The central processor can operate in a normal operation mode or a sleep mode. The touch screen overlays the display, and includes a first touch area, a second touch area and at least one electrode. When the central processor operates in the sleep mode and one of the first and second touch areas senses a touch, the at least one electrode generates a touch signal. The micro processing unit determines whether the touch is sensed by the first or the second touch area according to the touch signal. If the touch is sensed by the second touch area, the micro processing unit outputs a wake-up signal to the central processing unit, so as to switch the central processor from the sleep mode to the normal operation mode.

  • Patent number: 5886911
Abstract: The present invention relates to a fast calculation method and, more particularly, to a fast calculation method and its hardware apparatus using a linear interpolation operation. Primarily, the two existing values of the two given points X and Y intended to proceed the linear interpolation operation are stored in two registers A and B respectively, and then they are added through an adder and the lowest order bit of the sum is discarded to form a mean value. The resulting value discarded from the lowest order bit is then sent to a multiplexer and every bit in the binary representation of the position pointer K is sent to a selection input terminal of the multiplexer in sequence from the highest order bit to the lowest order bit. The resulting value discarded from the lowest order bit is sent back to either one of the two registers A and B in accordance with the digit of the corresponding bit in the binary representation of the position pointer K.

  • Patent number: 5808222
Abstract: A method of building a database of timbre samples for music synthesizers is provided, which can help provide smooth transitions between adjacent looping waveforms in the looping segment of the synthesized sound waveform, and also help provide an optimal tradeoff between high timbre quality and low timbre vibrations. The method utilizes a cosine looping-waveform transformation function to obtain an optimized looping waveform that can be repetitively appended to the timbre sample with smooth transitions between adjacent looping waveforms such that the resultant synthesized sound waveform is free from ripples that will otherwise affect the reproduced timbre quality of the synthesized sound. Moreover, the method utilizes a timbre-balancing function that can help provide an optimal tradeoff between high timbre quality and low timbre vibrations. The reproduced timbre quality of the synthesized sound from the wave-table music synthesizer is thus very high.
