  • Patent number: 11112405
Abstract: Assay devices, systems, methods, and kits useful for detection of analytes in a bodily fluid sample, such as saliva, are disclosed herein. Assay devices may include a fluid sample collector and an assessment unit to which the fluid sample collector couples. The fluid sample collector may include a cap with a plunger and absorbent member that collects a bodily fluid sample. Insertion of the plunger into the assessment unit during coupling provides pressure-driven fluid flow through a filter rapidly delivering bodily fluid filtrate to one or more test panels which provide the assay result. In embodiments, an on-board light source enables a user to readily detect changes in a test panel indicative of the presence of an analyte thus providing an opportunity for obtaining rapid results with improved confidence.

  • Patent number: 9538866
Abstract: A manikin (mannequin) with limbs that magnetically attach to the torso by an assembly of an attach base mounted on the torso and a lead-in base on the limb. Magnets of one Pole are accommodated within the attach base, and of the opposite Pole within the lead-in base. The magnets attract corresponding magnets of the opposite Pole, facilitating self-aligning of the magnets, whose depth-of-pull force is not over 80 Gauss. The attach and lead-in bases can regulate the attraction force via a layer of flux shield over the magnets for various applications. Attach and lead-in bases have complimentary guiding means to give an assembler a sense of touch through fabric to understand where the limbs are with respect to the torso when forming a joint. The lead-in pin hooks the limb into the torso, allowing limbs to pivot and return to their original position if bumped.

  • Publication number: 20160022058
Abstract: A manikin (mannequin) with limbs that magnetically attach to the torso by an assembly of an attach base mounted on the torso and a lead-in base on the limb. Magnets of one Pole are accommodated within the attach base, and of the opposite Pole within the lead-in base. The magnets attract corresponding magnets of the opposite Pole, thus facilitating self-aligning action of the magnets, whose depth-of-pull force is not more then 80 Gauss. The attach and lead-in bases have regulating force means, being a layer of flux shield placed over the magnets, that can adjust the attachment force of the magnets for different situations. The flux shield controls magnetic flux density and attachment force of the magnets. Attach and lead-in bases are provided with a complimentary guiding means to give an assembler a sense of touch through fabric to understand where a terminus of the limbs is with respect to the torso when forming a joint.

  • Publication number: 20090047918
Abstract: A measuring receiver includes a preselector, spectrum analyzer and a signal source. The preselector has a filtered path for pre-filtering an input signal and outputting a pre-filtered signal. The preselector also has a bypass path for passing the input signal directly from the signal source to the spectrum analyzer. A switch switches the signal between the filtered path and the bypass path. The measuring receiver is calibrated by calibrating a bypass path of the preselector and then storing the resulting bypass path calibration data. The signal source and the spectrum analyzer are connected to the preselector. A signal from the signal source is output to the preselector and the difference between signals passing through a filtered path and bypass path are measured to produce difference measurement data. The difference measurement data is combined with the bypass calibration data to calibrate the filtered path of the preselector.

  • Publication number: 20070018442
Abstract: A vehicle driver and passenger restraining device has a web (30) of which the bottom ends strap across the laps of the driver/passenger (11) and buckle up to the female receptacles (70) of which are adjustable. Of the two top ends one of which fixes to the solid fixture of the ceiling at one side of the chair slightly behind. When in ready position the other end feeds into the cable guide (20) which in turn hooks onto the carrying cam (80) and placed next to the fixed end. The web (30) is folded in pleats and slightly restrained. The propellant chamber (50) when received the signal of an imminent collision will propel the carrying cam (80) together with the cable guide (20) and the mobile end of the web (30) routes through the looped channel (40) thereby looped and restrained the person when the carrying cam entered the anchor-bracket (60).

  • Publication number: 20060220365
Abstract: A transportation riders protection system has a web (22) including a head protection device (21) deployed from a case (20) by two cable pullers (50) and (90) protecting rider (80) from collision impact. An automatic sensor (51b), a warning system (51e) and also a manual switch (51a) give signal to the firing of the charge from the propellant housing (51). The piston (55) propelled down to the limit of effective range will release the cable (47). The end cap (54) vents the pressure and cushions the thrust of the piston (55). The multiple cable control housing (53) housed set of cable control (52). Equalizer-organizer case (40) contains cables (41) of different length joining cable (47) with an overload split ring (48) which will straighten if tension is over the set limit. The anchor-router (30) locks the web (22) in place after the cables (41) are pulled down from the cavities of the tubes (60) and (70), while puller (90) tightens mid section of the web.

  • Patent number: 6343050
Abstract: An analog clock with a contiguous digital display is driven by radio signals from a WWVB or other time keeping radio station. To avoid using magnetic or optical feedback of the position of the hands of the analog clock if an erroneous time is shown (for example because of replacing the battery), the user of the clock physically resets the digital display to the analog setting (which of course is erroneous). Then an associated microprocessor speeds up or slows down the running of the analog clock until a match is made to the actual radio time.
