  • Patent number: 8331277
Abstract: In a mesh network, when a wireless mesh link exists between a first mesh access point and a second mesh access point, the first mesh access point can deliver a multicast packet to the second mesh access point through the wireless mesh link. When the second mesh access point determines that the multicast packet from the first mesh access point is a redundant packet, the second mesh access point will send a multi-path notice to the first mesh access point. After receiving the multi-path notice, the first mesh access point stops delivering the multicast packet through the path.

  • Patent number: 8098687
Abstract: A method for forwarding packets first checks a forwarding table of a bridge to find whether the destination information for a packet is included in the forwarding table. If the information is found, this packet is forwarded to the destination through a physical layer directly without passing through the bridge. This method improves the efficiency of the frame aggregation of an AP (Access Point) and enhances the throughput in a WLAN (Wireless Local Area Network).

  • Publication number: 20110038273
Abstract: The method for detecting continuous channel noise comprises the steps of: setting a threshold value of channel busy time and a threshold number of channel busy condition; setting a count value to an initial value; obtaining a measured value of the channel busy time during a beacon interval; determining whether the measured value of the channel busy time is larger than or equal to the threshold value of the channel busy time; if yes, the count value is increased by 1, and if not, the count value is reset to the initial value; and determining whether the count value is larger than or to equal to the threshold number of the channel busy condition; if yes, a noise disturbance alarm is generated, and if not, next channel busy time is obtained during a next beacon interval so as to determine whether the count value is increased or not.

  • Publication number: 20100266130
Abstract: The method and apparatus for distributing keys according to the IEEE 802.11r standard broadcast at least one notify packet from a first access point to other access points within an extended service set when a station has connected to the first access point. If the R0 key holder identifier in a key request packet coming from a second access point matches the R0 key holder identifier held by the first access point, a key response packet is forwarded to the second access point to speed up the handoff procedure between the station and the second access point.

  • Publication number: 20100246461
Abstract: A power saving method for a wireless access point comprises the steps of detecting whether all wireless communication devices connected to the wireless access point are legacy apparatuses; and if affirmative, retaining one antenna for operation and disabling all other antennas.
