  • Patent number: 5286134
Abstract: A device for supporting a canopy. The device comprises (a) two joints each comprising (1) a clamp for connecting with a corresponding handle support of a baby stroller and comprising a first finger and a second finger comprising an upper recess and a lower recess and (b) a strip connecting with the second finger and comprising an upper recess and a lower recess and (b) two canopy shelves each comprising (1) a first member for supporting the canopy and (2) a second member connecting with the long member at an angle and comprising two sides respectively comprising two protrusions. The second member of the canopy shelf can be moved past the strip so that the protrusions engage in the recesses and so that the canopy shelf is retained in an upper position for shielding occupants. The clamp also has a protrusion projecting therefrom between the fingers and penetrating the handle support, for restraining the device from rotating about and sliding along the handle supports.

  • Patent number: 5240265
Abstract: A joint for adjustably mounting a backrest support on a stroller frame. The joint consists of a first element and a second element. The first element has (a) an arc-shaped edge, (b) a hole formed transversely through the first element, (c) two bosses formed on a side of the first element, for which the hole is the middle point, (d) a flange formed along the arc-shaped edge, (e) a number of teeth formed on the flange and (f) a pocket for receiving the backrest support. The second element has (a) a tubular body for receiving a handle, (b) a clamp formed below the tubular body, for receiving a rear wheel leg, (c) a plate with an arc-shaped rim, being formed on a side of the tubular body, (d) a passage formed transversely through the plate and the tubular body, (e) two slots formed in the plate and (f) a number of recesses formed in the arc-shaped rim. A rivet penetrates a hole in a seat support, the hole in the first element, the passage in the second element and a hole in the handle.

  • Patent number: 5226658
Abstract: An improved position-retaining bar for a toy stroller. The position-retaining bar is folded or extended consistently with the toy stroller and consists of two pivotally combined strips. One of the strips has a flexible security buckle extending therefrom for restraining the other strip when the position-retaining bar is folded to a predetermined extent. Therefore, the toy stroller can only be folded to a predetermined extent when front wheels of the toy stroller are hindered during a stroll therewith, thereby protecting a child who pushes the toy stroller from tumbling and falling.

  • Patent number: 5146656
Abstract: A device for attaching a seat to a stroller is made of flexible material. The device includes a buckle defining a groove, a lug defining a slot, and a plurality of hook elements projecting from an inner surface of the buckle through the groove. The hook elements have a hooked end formed with a longitudinal cleft, thereby defining two spaced hooks which can be urged towards each other. The buckle grasps a structure of the stroller. The hook elements are insertable through the structure of the stroller for locking the device on the stroller. The lug means is bonded with a strip of a seat.

  • Patent number: 5062179
Abstract: A handle assembly for doll carriages comprises a pair of support rods each defining a first cog seat on an end thereof, a U-shaped angle-adjustable handle defining a second cog seat on a respective end thereof, a spring-biased cog member normally engaged between the first and second cog seats, and an adjusting piece for acting on the cog member. The adjusting piece has a pair of diametrically disposed ridges thereon, and the cog member has a pair of annular wedges thereon in alignment with the ridges. The adjusting piece is turnable to urge the cog member, resisting the force by the spring, to disengage from the second cog seat of the handle, thereby permitting a pivotal movement of the handle with respect to the support rods.

  • Patent number: 5039118
Abstract: A connector to join the backrest frames and the handle grip of a stroller includes a first and a second tubular member, a toothed wheel, a coil spring, a circular plate and a fastening device. The toothed wheel has a pair of shallow grooves and a pair of tapered grooves formed within its inner wall. The first tubular member has first annularly spaced teeth formed in its inner wall, which are adapted to accomodate the toothed wheel. The diameter of one end of the tubular member is smaller that that of the other end. The second tubular member has a closed end with a through hole and an open end. Second annularly spaced teeth are formed within its inner wall, which are aligned with the first annular teeth, so that the toothed wheel can slide axially within the confines of the first and the second tubular member when they are engaged. The circular plate has a pair of engaging members adapted to engage the pairs of grooves.

  • Patent number: 4989891
Abstract: A removable safety bar for a baby stroller is at both ends securable within each of both arms of a baby stroller. A hollow plastic arm of a baby stroller is provided with a hole formed with an inner flange. The removable safety bar includes a shaft covered with a foam rubber sleeve. To each end of the shaft is fitted and engaging means which secures within each of both arms of the baby stroller by means of an engaging piece which securely hooks over the inner flange formed in each arm and which is easily unhookable by a slight pressure applied to the engaging means with the fingers. During removal, the engaging means is slid back along the shaft until the notch is disengaged from the arm. A spring provided at the butt end of the shaft within the engaging piece provides a restorative force which causes the engaging means, upon removal, to slide back to its original position.
