    Abstract: In various embodiments, the present invention is directed to a facile one-pot reverse emulsion process to assemble core-shell nanoparticles (CS-SMNPs) into bright and noniridescent photonic supraballs. In one or more embodiments, the present invention is directed to core-shell nanoparticles having an inner high refractive index (RI) core and an outer low RI shell. In one or more embodiment, the present invention includes core-shell nanoparticles using high RI (˜1.74) melanin cores and low-RI (˜1.45) silica shells. In various embodiments, these nanoparticles may be self-assembled into bright and noniridescent supraballs using a scalable one-pot reverse emulsion process. According to various embodiments of the present invention, it is possible to generate a full spectrum of structural colors with the combination of only two ingredients, synthetic melanin and silica.

To prevent interruptions, a multi-layer data cache may be used where feature flag data for the feature flags may initially be loaded, after a time period, to a first layer cache that is not used to update the application. When conditions exist for updating the application without affecting the user experience, such as if the user is no longer using a workflow, the feature flag data may be loaded to a second layer cache. The second layer cache may then be used for updating.

    Abstract: In one aspect, the invention provides universal multi-color mapping strategy in nanochannels combining conventional sequence-motif labeling system with Cas9 mediated target-specific labeling of any 20-base sequences (20mers) to create custom labels and detect new features. The sequence-motifs are labeled with green fluorophores and the 20mers are labeled with red fluorophores. Using this strategy, it is not only possible to detect the (structural variants) SVs but it is also possible to utilize custom labels to interrogate the features not accessible to motif-labeling, locate breakpoints and precisely estimate copy numbers of genomic repeats. In another aspect, the invention provides CRISPR-Cas9 enabled whole-genome sequencing.
