The implementation may include comparing the output signal with the reference signal, counting falling edges about each phase of the number of phases in a predetermined time period and summing to define a count output; comparing the count output with a product of the number of phases of the output signal and the factor to define a comparison, generating a control signal based upon the comparison, and inputting the control signal to the oscillator to alter the output signal thereof.

The control method includes steps of: receiving a request for access to a hardware device from a current process under the user mode; determining whether the current process has obtained a mutual exclusion (mutex) of the hardware device; if affirmative, determining whether an identification of the current process and an identification of a previous process accessed the hardware device are the same; if negative, performing a context switch on the current process and the previous process accessed the hardware device to allow the current process to access the hardware device. Accordingly, when accessing complicated hardware devices, the disclosure significantly enhances driver performance under a user mode while also implementing secured random access to hardware devices in a multitasking environment.

    Abstract: A recovery method applied to the FAT file system in a Linux operating system is provided. The method includes steps of: fetching an FAT chain corresponding to a file; determining whether at least an index entry contained in the FAT chain is valid; and modifying one of the at least one index entry to be valid when the modified entry is examined as invalid. Through the recovery method, FAT files, specifically having FAT chain entries which are invalid or inferring file sizes larger than the maximum length representable by the FAT file system, can be efficiently recovered in the Linux system to minimize data loss as well as to prevent a system crash.

For example, if temperature increases, the supply voltage can be increased proportionally, thereby tending to limit variation in the oscillation frequency delivered by the ring oscillator.
