Patent number: 9612875Abstract: The present invention provides an operational-task-oriented system and method for dynamically adjusting operational environment applicable to a computer cluster. Each operational node of the computer cluster has two or more operational systems installed. After receiving the operational task, the control node estimates the time required for completing different tasks requiring different operational systems by appropriate operational nodes and compares the estimated finish time and the assigned finish time for judging how to adjust the operating system running in the operational nodes. Thereby, the operational task can be completed in the assigned finish time. Another method is to use the control node to analyze the proportions of the tasks requiring different operational systems in an operational task and hence adjusts the operational system running in an operational node according to the proportion of requirement. Thereby, the operational task can be completed in the shortest time.Type: GrantFiled: November 14, 2014Date of Patent: April 4, 2017Assignee: National Applied Research LaboratoriesInventors: Ming-Jen Wang, Chih-Wen Chang, Chuan-Lin Lai, Chia-Chen Kuo, Jiang-Siang Lian

Publication number: 20140012975Abstract: A computer cluster includes a node and a management system. The node includes an agent and generates a node event message in response to occurrence of an event. The agent gathers a software behavior information set, and generates a node information set when the node generates the node event message. The management system is configured to communicate with the node and includes a database storing at least one pre-established solution information set, and an agent management module configured to search the database according to the node information set. Upon finding a solution information set from the database, the agent management module sends the solution information set to the node so that the agent generates a solution for the event.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 9, 2012Publication date: January 9, 2014Applicant: NATIONAL APPLIED RESEARCH LABORATORIESInventors: Ming-Jen WANG, Li-Chieh YU, Chuan-Lin LAI, Chia-Chen KUO, Hsi-Ya CHANG

Patent number: 8578345Abstract: The launch of an installer or uninstaller is detected. A process lineage tree is created representing the detected launched installer/uninstaller process, and all processes launched directly and indirectly thereby. The detected installer/uninstaller process is represented by the root node in the process lineage tree. Launches of child processes by the installer/uninstaller process and by any subsequently launched child processes are detected. The launched child processes are represented by child nodes in the tree. As long as the installer/uninstaller process represented by the root node in the tree is running, the processes represented by nodes in tree are exempted from anti-malware analysis. The termination of the installer/uninstaller process is detected, after which the processes represented by nodes in the process lineage tree are no longer exempted from anti-malware analysis.Type: GrantFiled: April 15, 2010Date of Patent: November 5, 2013Assignee: Symantec CorporationInventors: Mark Kennedy, Sourabh Satish, Alexander Danileiko, Ming-Jen Wang

Patent number: 7896957Abstract: An air purifier includes a shell with an air inlet and an air outlet. An electric field filter, an air passage and a blower are disposed inside the shell. The electric field filter includes a filter frame disposed at the air outlet and a grid base disposed under the filter frame. A filter is provided inside the filter frame. One end of the air passage connects with the grid base and the other end connects with the blower. The blower is disposed at the air inlet. The filter frame and the grid base are integrated as a hermetic whole. Due to the integrated configuration of the filter frame and the grid base, when removing out the electric field filter, the power is cut automatically. This effectively prevents an occurrence of the electroshock, and improves safety performance of the purifier. Furthermore, air leakage can be greatly reduced, for there is no gap between the filter frame and the grid base.Type: GrantFiled: December 3, 2009Date of Patent: March 1, 2011Assignee: Shenzen Qibin EnterprisesInventors: Bing Zhao, Ming-Jen Wang, Junsui Wang
