  • Patent number: 11898678
Abstract: A bag connector system includes a first coupling element, with a self-closing seal and a housing having a fluid inlet port and a fluid outlet port, and a second coupling element, with a housing having a fluid inlet end and a fluid outlet end. The fluid inlet end is configured to displace the self-closing seal when inserted into the fluid outlet port of the first coupling element. A bag connector system optionally includes a locking mechanism to maintain the first coupling element and second coupling element in a coupled state. Uncoupling of the first and second coupling elements results in minimal fluid contamination on the outer surfaces of the coupling elements. The bag connector systems provided herein are included in medical appliances for waste management.

  • Patent number: 11806270
Abstract: Certain embodiments relate to a soft odor barrier material in a medical device. The soft odor barrier material includes an elastomer and an antiblocking agent. In certain forms, the antiblocking agent imparts an interior rough surface having an arithmetic mean surface roughness (Ra) not less than 0.1 ?m. In certain forms, the antiblocking agent is non-blocking upon folding and packaging.

  • Publication number: 20220355069
Abstract: An example catheter includes a tubular body portion and a cuff. The tubular body portion has a proximal end portion and a distal end portion. The distal end portion defines a distal face of the tubular body portion. The cuff is mounted to the distal end portion and defines a distal face of the cuff. In certain embodiments, the tubular body portion terminates within the cuff such that the distal face of the body portion is positioned proximally of the distal face of the cuff. In certain embodiments, a pocket is formed between the cuff and the body portion. In certain embodiments, the body portion is more rigid than the cuff.

  • Publication number: 20220323730
Abstract: A system includes a catheter and a pressure management device. The catheter includes a cuff, a resilient device, an evacuation passage, and a first fitting. The cuff defines a chamber, and has a deflated state and an inflated state. The resilient device is positioned in the chamber, and has a compressed state and an expanded state. The resilient device is configured to expand from the compressed state to the expanded state to thereby cause the cuff to move from the deflated state to the inflated state. The evacuation passage extends from the cuff to an evacuation port. The first fitting is in fluid communication with the chamber. The pressure management device includes a second fitting engaged with the first fitting, and at least one check valve in fluid communication with the second fitting. In certain embodiments, the at least one check valve includes an inlet check valve in fluid communication with the second fitting, and an outlet check valve in fluid communication with the second fitting.
