Abstract: A method and an apparatus for processing notification on a mobile computing device with a touch sensitive display are provided. The method includes displaying, on a status bar in a first display area of the touch sensitive display, one or more notifications each of which is associated with a corresponding one of one or more applications installed on the mobile computing device. The method also includes detecting a selection of one of the one or more notifications. The method further includes displaying, on a top of a notification list, an application icon associated with the selected notification for launching the application, wherein the notification list is displayed in a second display area of the touch sensitive display and includes one or more application icons each of which is associated with a corresponding one of the one or more applications.
