Abstract: A method for optical wavelength position searching and tracking with variable step values. During the searching process, if the optical power variation detected for two times has not reached a certain amplitude, then the rapid searching method with large steps will be used; while the optical power variation has reached a certain amplitude, the step value will be modified, and the fine searching method with small steps will be used. The method provided by the present invention has been implemented in the application of optical wavelength position searching, and has achieved good results, not only the requirement for rapid the searching process is satisfied, but also accurate optical signal processing is ensured, and the processing cost has not increased.
