    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a method for protecting a terminal device and the terminal device thereof. The method includes: obtaining status information of a terminal device plugged with an earphone; determining whether the status information meets a preset condition; and activating an alarm mode of the terminal device when the status information meets the preset condition. According to the present disclosure, given that activating the alarm mode of the terminal device is based on the status information of the terminal device, the alarm mode of the terminal device can be activated based on environment information of the terminal device without a user manually activating the alarm mode of the terminal device, therefore user experience is improved. Moreover, the security of the terminal device is further improved by avoiding an incident of the user forgetting to start the alarm mode, thus further protecting the terminal device.
