  • Publication number: 20230258514
Abstract: A method for measuring temperature and deformation of a part or structure on the basis of a single line of optical fiber having a single Bragg rating is provided. The method includes: interrogating the optical fiber based on two sampling frequencies; one being a low frequency and the other being a high frequency, said low frequency being suitable for sensing a slow rate of change corresponding to the temperature variation, and said high frequency being suitable for sensing a fast rate of change corresponding to vibrations; implementing an algorithmic block based on a blind-source-separation (BSS) technique, comprising a frequency analysis, a multivariate analysis and higher-order statistics; and returning to the time domain via an inverse Fourier transform.

  • Publication number: 20230050697
Abstract: In the field of measuring physical parameters with a multimode optical fiber, a system for measuring P physical parameters at one or more measurement points has one or more multimode optical fibers. The system includes: a light source generating a source optical signal, a multimode measurement optical fiber transporting optical signals in at least M distinct second predetermined propagation modes, M being an integer greater than or equal to P, the measurement optical fiber including a measurement section reflecting the optical signals with a wavelength variable according to physical parameters to be measured, a detection device measuring wavelengths of the optical signals reflected by the measurement section, and an optical module generating M signals from the source optical signal, the M signals each being injected into the measurement optical fiber to propagate in one of the modes, the optical module also transferring the optical signals reflected toward the detection device.

  • Publication number: 20220357196
Abstract: The invention relates to a measuring device (10) comprising aa measuring equipment (30) that is configured to be optically interrogated by a measuring instrument (20) by means of first optical signals in a first wavelength range, and a connecting optical fibre (100) for optically connecting aa measuring equipment (30) to a measuring instrument (20). The connecting optical fibre (100) comprises at least a first optical core (111) that is multimode in the first wavelength range and a second optical core (112) that is single-mode in a second wavelength range. The connecting optical fibre (100) comprises at least one first segment of functionalised optical fibre (120) that is such as to exhibit, at the second wavelength, an optical property that varies with an environmental parameter of the connecting optical fibre (100). The invention also relates to a measuring assembly and to an apparatus that comprises such a measuring assembly.

  • Patent number: 9291779
Abstract: The connection device for liquid-core optical fiber comprises a sleeve traversed by a channel comprising a plurality of communicating stacked conduits, a first conduit being formed from an end of the sleeve and being arranged to receive, in a sealed manner, at the corresponding end of the sleeve, one end of the optical fiber, and a second conduit being formed communicating with the first conduit, and closing means that hermetically seal the end of the second conduit opposite the end that communicates with the first conduit, the sleeve further having a third conduit for filling the internal volume of the second conduit when the latter is closed at one end by the closing device and the fiber is inserted into the first conduit, the third conduit transversely connecting the outside of the sleeve with the inside of the second conduit, and a sealing plug for hermetically sealing the port of the third conduit opening to the outside of the sleeve.

  • Publication number: 20100290062
Abstract: The invention involves a sensor (100) with a Bragg network fiber including a source (105) and detection system (101), operating at a wavelength of a given study, in addition to a Bragg (6) network fiber (1) linked to said source and said system, with said fiber being a microstructured optic fiber whose sheath (5) includes channels (3) adjacent to the heart (2) of the fiber (1), capable of receiving a product to be analyzed, characterized in that the number of channels (3) adjacent to the heart (2) is between 2 and 5, and that the size of the heart (2) of the fiber (1) is adapted so that an electromagnetic field of a wave guided by the fiber is not confined in the heart (2) of the fiber (1), and the electromagnetic field extends into the channels (3).
