Abstract: An article having barrier properties is provided. The article includes a nanocomposite having barrier properties dispersed in a polyolefin resin to have superior mechanical strength and form a strong barrier to oxygen, organic solvent, and moisture.

Abstract: A nanocomposite composition having a superior barrier property is provided. The nanocomposite composition includes a polypropylene resin and a polypropylene/intercalated clay nanocomposite. The nanocomposite composition has superior mechanical strength and superior barrier properties to oxygen, organic solvent, and moisture. Also, the nanocomposite composition can be used to prepare films, containers, or sheets having a superior barrier property through single/multi-layer blow molding.

Abstract: A dry-blended nanocomposite composition including a resin having a barrier property/intercalated clay nanocomposite and a polyethylene terephthalate resin is provided. The composition has superior mechanical strength and moldability, and superior oxygen, organic solvent, and moisture barrier properties, and thus can be used to manufacture various articles having a barrier property.

Abstract: A multi-layer container having a barrier property comprising a polyolefin layer and a nanocomposite blend layer is provided. The multi-layer container maintains a sufficient adhesive strength when contacting gasoline or gasohol, has good durability over a long period of time, and has superior barrier properties to gasoline and organic solvents, and thus is suitable for use in a fuel tank for vehicles.

Abstract: A method of preparing a tube shoulder having barrier properties is provided. The method includes: dry-blending a polyolefin resin and a resin having barrier properties/intercalated clay nanocomposite to form a nanocomposite composition and then molten-blending, pelletizing and molding the nanocomposite composition. A tube shoulder prepared according the method has superior barrier properties and adhesion to a tube body, and thus can effectively prevent the inflow of oxygen, thereby preventing decomposition of contents.
