  • Publication number: 20160320943
Abstract: A method, computer program product, and/or computer system controls icon movement behavior on a graphical user interface. A file hosting icon and a data file icon are displayed on a graphical user interface (GUI). The file hosting icon represents a file hosting service, and the data file icon, which is capable of being moved towards the file hosting icon on the GUI to initiate storage by the file hosting service, represents data. The behavior of movement of the data file icon is adjusted according to a position of the data file icon relative to a position of the file hosting icon on the GUI, and based on predefined features of the data relative to predefined features of the file hosting service.

  • Publication number: 20160323155
Abstract: A mechanism for declarative service domain federation uses a declarative approach to both the visibility aspect and the management aspect of service domain federation. Instead of manually exporting services, that is, selecting individual services from source domains to be visible in the target domain, using the present system, a federation architect uses a federation console to specify federation intent. The federation intent may include federation rule, query-based service group, and quality-of-service (QoS) policy. Based on the declared federation intent, a planning engine resolves the individual services based on the group query, generates the service visibility configuration, and creates the necessary service proxies and/or mediation objects to satisfy the goal. At runtime, a service monitor collects the performance metrics of federated services and dynamically adjusts the mediation/proxy configurations to maintain the QoS objectives specified by the federation architect.

  • Patent number: 9471852
Abstract: An aspect of providing user-configurable settings for content obfuscation includes, for each media segment in a media file, inputting the media segment to a neural network, applying a classifier to features output by the neural network, and determining from results of the classifier images in the media segment that contain the sensitive characteristics. The classifier specifies images that are predetermined to include sensitive characteristics. An aspect further includes assigning a tag to each of the images in the media segment that contain the sensitive characteristics. The tag indicates a type of sensitivity. An aspect also includes receiving at least one user-defined sensitivity, the user-defined sensitivity indicating an action or condition that is considered objectionable to a user, identifying a subset of the tagged images that correlate to the user-defined sensitivity, and visually modifying, during playback of the media file, an appearance of the subset of the tagged images.

  • Patent number: 9469476
Abstract: A method, system, and/or computer program product dynamically configures a delivery system for delivering products to smart mats. A delivery coordination server determines a location of multiple smart mats. Each of the smart mats includes a positioning system and a transmitter that transmits a message describing the real-time geophysical location of the smart mats. The delivery coordination server receives a message describing a location of a first delivery vehicle that is transporting a first package addressed for delivery to a first smart mat. The delivery coordination server determines that the first smart mat has moved to a location that is within a predetermined distance of a second smart mat, to which a second delivery vehicle is scheduled to deliver a second package. The delivery coordination server directs the first delivery vehicle to transfer the first package to the second delivery vehicle for delivery to the first smart mat.

  • Publication number: 20160275158
Abstract: An approach for ontological policy based data collection, processing, and negotiation for data in view of analytics is provided. The approach searches one or more data sources for data related to a data request. The approach collects data related to the data request from the one or more data sources. The approach determines whether one or more attributes generated from the data request match one or more descriptors associated with the data related to the data request. The approach creates one or more annotated ontologies for the data related to the data request. The approach displays a hierarchical visualization of the one or more annotated ontologies for the data related to the data request. The approach updates the one or more annotated ontologies for the data related to the data request based, at least in part, on an evaluation of the quality of the one or more data selections.

  • Patent number: 8997242
Abstract: Systems and techniques for managing software licensing are described. When a computing system service request is made, the request is intercepted and software information that may be more or less continuously updated in a managed computing environment is examined to determine the effect of the service request on software usage by the system. The software usage represented by the service request is evaluated based on licensing information to determine license usage by the system and changes in license usage based on the service request, and license usage information is determined based on the software usage and the licensing information. The license usage information may be used in connection with a system of rules to govern actions such as reporting licensing usage or allowing or preventing the use of software based on whether use of the software will violate licensing requirements.
