Patent number: 5207741Abstract: A release assembly to a pull-type clutch releases the clutch by extracting the radially inward portion of a diaphragm spring in the direction toward an associated transmission. The release assembly comprises a release bearing and its retainer. The release bearing includes an outer race fixed onto the radially inward margin of the diaphragm spring and an inner race grooved by a concavity along its radially inward portion the focus of which coincides with the pivotal deviation center of the release assembly. A complementarily convex surface along the retainer slidably mates with the concavity of the inner race, allowing the retainer in this release assembly to be slidable along inner race of the release bearing. Accordingly, if the clutch and the transmission come into misalignment, the resultant slide of the retainer on the inner race of the release bearing compensates.Type: GrantFiled: October 15, 1991Date of Patent: May 4, 1993Assignee: Daikin Clutch CorporationInventor: Minoru Abe

Patent number: 4980958Abstract: An electrical cable-making apparatus includes a cable-making area in which a shuttle mechanism (10) moves electrical wires (1) clamped therein from a first position to a second position at which the spaced wire ends are positioned between spaced parallel tapes (26). Clamping members (25c) move the tapes into engagement with the spaced wire ends and clamp the taped wire ends therebetween whereafter the shuttle mechanism (10) having been unclamped from the wire moves along the wires back to the first position. A wire-feeding mechanism (34, 38) feeds the wires (1) to a prescribed length and cutting and terminating members (61, 61a) cut the wires and terminate them in an electrical connector (2) thereby forming a cable with one end of the wires being taped and the other ends connected to a connector. A transfer mechanism (40) receives the wires (1) adjacent the taped wire ends and transfers the cable away from the cable-making area.Type: GrantFiled: June 7, 1989Date of Patent: January 1, 1991Assignee: AMP IncorporatedInventors: Satoshi Suzuki, Minoru Abe

Patent number: 4815324Abstract: An intake air meter for measuring the intake air of an internal combustion engine operates on the principle of an ultrasonic Karman vortex flowmeter. A Karman vortex shedder is disposed in the main intake air passageway of an engine. Ultrasonic waves which are generated by an ultrasonic transmitter are phase modulated by the Karman vortex street which is shed by the vortex shedder. An ultrasonic receiver receives the ultrasonic waves and produces a phase modulated output signal, which is demodulated using a phase locked loop and a low-pass filter. The output of the low-pass filter can be used to count the rate of which Karman vortices are generated by the vortex shedder.Type: GrantFiled: April 15, 1987Date of Patent: March 28, 1989Assignee: Mitsubishi Denki Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Yasuo Tada, Minoru Abe

Patent number: 4669075Abstract: An optical disk control apparatus which makes it possible to record and play back the data of a sector when a sector signal representative of the start of the sector is missing. A timer detects an overtime in the time intervals between sector signals due to a missing sector signal due to a defect in an optical disk or the like. A one-shot circuit is provided to produce a simulation sector signal similar to the normal sector signals when an overtime is detected. A combining circuit is connected to receive either the normal sector signals or the simulation sector signals and delivers the signals to a control circuit so as to enable the control circuit to operate the apparatus continuously.Type: GrantFiled: February 1, 1985Date of Patent: May 26, 1987Assignee: Mitsubishi Denki Kabushiki KaishaInventor: Minoru Abe

Patent number: 4120627Abstract: An extruded string of marshmallow material is powdered and conveyed to a pair of scallop surfaced cutter drums which are synchronously rotated in opposite directions and simultaneously axially reciprocated relative to each other, whereby the string is pinch or squeeze severed into individual marshmallows. A rounded form is implemented by each marshmallow being rolled in the tube formed by a pair of facing scallop grooves of the reciprocating drums during its temporary presence therein. If a filler of jam or the like is extruded within the string, the pinch severing tends to sealingly force the relatively viscous marshmallow material over the ends of the filler pocket to thereby prevent the escape and leakage of the filler.Type: GrantFiled: March 16, 1977Date of Patent: October 17, 1978Assignee: Eiwa Confectionary Co.Inventor: Minoru Abe
