  • Patent number: 5531459
Abstract: A wire harness grommet has a funnel-like shape having a wire-passing tubular portion of a small diameter, and a partition wall-mounting portion extending from the tubular portion. The bonding between a filler layer, which is provided in a hollow portion of the funnel-shaped portion, and an inner wall surface is enhanced to thereby prevent the separation of the filler layer. Removal of the grommet from a mold can be effected satisfactorily. The inner wall surface is in the form of tiling in which flat plateaus are densely arranged and spaced from one another by joint grooves, so that the inner wall surface serves as a separation prevention surface.

  • Patent number: 5320732
Abstract: The subject invention provides a simple sensor and an easy to handle biosensor measuring apparatus for the purpose of making measurements easily, rapidly and with high accuracy for specific components within a biological specimen such as blood. The biosensor of the subject invention is provided with a protrusion or a depression in a portion of a base having at least a measurement electrode and an opposing electrode. Also, the biosensor measuring apparatus is so configurated to have a mating means in the main body of the measuring apparatus freely supporting this biosensor to contact the said sensor's protrusion or depression, and further having the activating switch of the driving power supply located in this mating means.By means of these, it is possible to prevent wasteful measuring operations, as noted in the prior art biosensors, such as inserting the sensor backwards and making measurements with the sensor inserted backwards.

  • Patent number: 5136546
Abstract: An electrically programmable read only memory is equipped with latch circuits for sequentially introducing series signals which are fed through external terminals. The converter includes sequentially operated switch elements and latch circuits in order to convert the series signals into parallel signals. The thus converter parallel signals are written simultaneously in a memory array via address decoder operated selection switch elements. According to this method, the writing operations into the memory array can be conducted at a high speed even when one writing operation is relatively long as a result of the parallel signal action.

  • Patent number: 5117936
Abstract: A propelling apparatus for a vehicle switchable between a four wheel drive mode and a two wheel drive mode. The apparatus comprises a hydraulic pump for driving hydraulic motors associated with front wheels and rear wheels, respectively. A shutoff valve is provided on oil lines extending between the hydraulic pump and one of the hydraulic motors, e.g. the motor associated with the front wheels. The shutoff valve is operable to establish the two wheel drive mode for driving only the rear wheels. A pumping preventive device prevents the hydraulic motor associated with the front wheels from effecting pumping action due to power transmitted from the front wheels when the shutoff valve is operated.

  • Patent number: 5049741
Abstract: An electromagnetic wave shielding system for an optical sensor includes: a sensor body having an aperture through which an optical signal is made incident on the sensor body; a shielding plate disposed within the sensor body, the shielding plate having an opening having a dimension of at most about one-half of the wavelength of electromagnetic waves; an optical system for gathering the optical signal which passes through the aperture of the sensor body to the dimension of the opening in the shielding plate so that it can pass through the opening; and a detecting/processing unit for detecting and processing the optical signal which passes through the opening in the shielding plate. Thus, the electromagnetic waves which have entered are prevented from passing through or are remarkably attenuated by the opening in the shielding plate, and are thereby prevented from reaching the detecting/processing unit.
