  • Patent number: 7405762
Abstract: A camera having an electronic image pickup element and a distance-measuring circuit that uses light signals obtained from light images of a plurality of distance-measuring areas set in a photographing screen to select a main subject and measure the distance to the subject. The camera has a focusing component, operating when the position of the main subject cannot be identified by the distance-measuring circuit, to divide the photographing screen into a plurality of areas to identify an area in which the main subject is present on the basis of a luminance distribution obtained from the areas other than those overlapping the distance-measuring areas. The focusing component focuses a photographing lens on the position of the highest contrast signal while scanning the lens position of the photographing lens.

  • Patent number: 5758205
Abstract: A lens barrel constructed of a cam slot, a lens cylinder, a memory means, a detecting means, a motor driving means and a control means. The cam slot has a discontinuous area formed in a portion corresponding to a parting line of a molding die used for molding. The lens cylinder ass a cam follower engaging with this cam slot. The memory means stores information indicating where the discontinuous area exists in the cam slot. The detecting means detects where the cam follower is positioned in the cam slot. The motor driving means makes the lens cylinder progress and retreat in the optical-axis direction by relatively driving the cam slot and the lens cylinder. The control means controls the motor driving means to drive the lens cylinder up to a position deviating from the discontinuous area when the cam follower is in the discontinuous area by comparing memory information of the memory mens with detection information of the detecting means.

  • Patent number: 5574926
Abstract: A one-chip microcomputer system includes a one-chip microcomputer, a nonvolatile memory which can electrically rewritably store changing data of a program stored in a mask ROM of the one-chip microcomputer, an input unit (connection unit) for receiving data to be written in the nonvolatile memory from an external device, and an object to be controlled by the one-chip microcomputer. In one aspect, the nonvolatile memory has first and second correction data areas, and first and second memories for respectively designating these areas. Upon reception of an initialization signal from the external device connected to the input unit, only the second memory for designating the second correction data area is initialized. In another aspect, the mask ROM stores ROM version data, and the nonvolatile memory stores board version data.

  • Patent number: 5493357
Abstract: A camera lens driving device of the present invention drives the lens at a constant speed while pressing force applied to an operating member by the operator is below a predetermined value and controls the lens driving speed according to pressing force after it exceeds the predetermined value. The lens driving device comprises a photo-taking lens, an actuator for driving the lens, an operating member for specifying a direction in which the lens is to be driven, a pressing force detector for detecting pressing force applied to the operating member to produce a variable output, and a drive controller responsive to an output of the pressing force detector for outputting a drive signal to the actuator. The drive controller includes first and second comparators and a drive signal output circuit. In response to the operating member being pressed the pressing force detector outputs a drive control signal to the drive controller.

  • Patent number: 5430513
Abstract: A film cartridge in which a supply spool incorporated in a cartridge body is rotated to supply a film wound on the supply spool out of the cartridge body. A film supply unit rotates the supply spool to supply the film out of the film cartridge. A first control unit controls the film supply unit such that a supply operation of the film is started in response to a closing operation of the rear cover of a camera body. A film take-up unit takes up the film supplied by the film supply unit. A second control unit controls the film take-up unit to operate the film take-up unit upon completion of the supply operation of the film performed by the film supply unit. A third control unit interrupts a take-up operation of the film performed by the film take-up unit and reoperates the film supply unit when the take-up operation of the film is impossible during the take-up operation of the film performed by the film take-up unit.
