  • Patent number: 5763034
Abstract: A fuel transfer tube comprises an inner layer of hot-melt fluororesin and an outer layer of partial aromatic polyamide resin or ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer. The layer of hot-melt fluororesin reliably prevents alcohol from permeating into the tube, while gasoline is effectively prevented from permeating into the tube by the layer of partial aromatic polyamide resin or ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer. The fuel transfer tube, therefore, is suitable for transferring alcohol, gasoline and a mixture thereof.

  • Patent number: 5530209
Abstract: A coordinate input device including a flexible upper substrate mounted on a rigid lower substrate and having a centrally-located input operating portion. The upper substrate includes a first resistance layer laminated thereon and X-axis electrodes formed on the first resistance layer on opposite sides of the input operating portion. The lower substrate includes a second resistance layer laminated thereon and Y-axis electrodes formed on the second resistance layer on opposite sides of the input operating portion. A spacer group is mounted between the upper and lower substrates to maintain a predetermined clearance, with spacers of the spacer group being having a height of 4 .mu.m or less, and being arranged at a pitch in the range of 0.3 to 1.0 mm. A position detecting circuit is provided for locating a depressed portion of the upper substrate by measuring a change in voltage caused by contact between the first and second resistance layers. A method is also provided for making the coordinate input device.

  • Patent number: 5072502
Abstract: A method of and an apparatus for feeding and applying end stops one at a time onto a slide fastener chain are disclosed. An elongated strip wound on a reel and carrying a multiplicity of prospective end stops serially interconnected by flexible connecting cords is cut successively across the cords to separate a leading end stop which is folded centrally about its transverse axis. The thus cut end stop is transferred onto and clamped in place over a beaded edge of a stringer tape with heat and pressure.

  • Patent number: 4874227
Abstract: A large number of liquid crystal display devices is formed on a single plane, each of the liquid crystal display devices being formed by arranging liquid crystal between transparent substrates which allow light from a light source to pass through. Display portions of the respective liquid crystal display devices are covered by a masking member (23) and a light guide which is formed of light guide devices, one or more of which being provided for each of said liquid crystal display devices, and junctions between the liquid crystal display devices are also covered by the light guide. With this structure, when the light guides are formed such that the junctions between the plurality of liquid crystal display devices are also covered, lattice-like non-display lines do not appear, thereby providing substantially visually uniform brightness throughout the entire screen of the large-sized liquid crystal display and improving the entire image.

  • Patent number: 4575215
Abstract: A method and apparatus for making a two-dimensional copy from either a two-dimensional or three-dimensional object is provided. In making a two-dimensional copy from a three-dimensional object, the object is submerged in the liquid contained in a container having a transparent bottom portion to which the object is brought into contact by placing a cover member thereon. The object is then exposed through the transparent bottom portion thereby the projected image of the object viewed through the transparent bottom portion is reproduced on a sheet of copy paper.

  • Patent number: 4175477
Abstract: A plate type punching machine in which sheets of paper supplied to the machine are transferred intermittently while held by sheet holding pawls on endless chain belts. Upon reaching the punching die, each sheet is formed with cut lines. This sheet is placed on a board and the cut sections are removed by remover bars in remover bar frames arranged movable vertically on both upper and lower sides of the board. The board is supported by a support which is carried by a mount such that the support is movable out of or into one side of a machine frame. The end on one side of the mount is pivotally secured to the machine frame by pins so that the mount is pivotable up and down about the pins. The other side end of the mount is pivotally joined to rods whose other ends are joined to eccentric shafts connected to a bevel gear. The bevel gear is meshed with another bevel gear secured to an end of a shaft which has provided at its other end a handle.
