  • Publication number: 20040197333
Abstract: The invention provides a method for reducing formation or progression of neoplasms associated with immunosuppressive therapy in a mammal, the method comprising treating the mammal with an effective amount of a TGF-&bgr; antagonist. Also provided are compositions comprising a TGF-&bgr; antagonist and an immunosuppressive agent such as cyclosporin or FK506. The TGF-&bgr; antagonists of the invention include proteins and polypeptides that bind TGF-&bgr; receptors, anti-TGF-&bgr; antibodies, TGF-&bgr; receptors and fragments thereof. In another aspect the invention provides methods for identifying compounds capable of inhibiting the formation or proliferation of tumors in a mammal undergoing immunosuppressive therapy.

  • Patent number: 6274990
Abstract: A device for correcting a landing position of an electron beam in a color cathode ray tube has a funnel temperature sensor, an ambient temperature sensor, a landing correction coil disposed on or around a corner of the outer surface of the color cathode ray tube, and a processor and controller for calculating a first temperature difference between the temperature of the funnel and the ambient temperature and a second temperature difference between a predetermined design temperature and the ambient temperature, and calculating a current value for the landing correction coil according to the first and second temperature differences to supply a current of the obtained current value to the landing correction coil.

  • Patent number: 6133686
Abstract: A color cathode ray tube panel has a glass face portion including a substantially flat outer surface facing a viewer and an inner surface on which a phosphor screen is coated. The inner surface is concavely curved with a radius of curvature R.sub.x in a direction of a horizontal axis of the cathode ray tube, and the following conditions are satisfied: ##EQU1## where W.sub.h denotes a horizontal width of an effective area of picture in the face portion, L denotes an optimum viewing distance, n.sub.1 denotes a refractive index of the face portion, and t denotes a thickness of the face portion at its center.

  • Patent number: 5725977
Abstract: An exposure system including a master mask used for exposing a glass panel to form a plurality of phosphor stripes or dots on an inner surface of the glass panel wherein the master mask and/or a light source are movable for correction of an exposure position, thereby eliminating the need to attach and remove a color selecting mechanism to and from the glass panel when the glass panel is exposed to form a fluorescent screen on the inner surface of the glass panel.

  • Patent number: 5602443
Abstract: A thin flat cathode-ray tube can optimize stress which is generated in each part also when its screen size is increased and maintains high reliability particularly in connection strength in a joint portion between a front glass vessel and a back metal vessel, without deteriorating the joint portion in reliability also in working for mounting electric signal input terminals and an exhaust pipe on the back metal vessel. In the flat cathode-ray tube which is formed by joining side surface portions of the front glass vessel and the back metal vessel with each other, the back metal vessel has the side surface portion of a prescribed width extending along that of the front glass vessel and a bottom surface portion opposed to a fluorescent screen of the front glass vessel, while the bottom surface portion is depressed by a prescribed amount toward the fluorescent portion and a corner portion connecting the side surface portion with the bottom surface portion is at a prescribed radius of curvature.
