  • Patent number: 7441565
Abstract: A low cost and mass-producible fire protection zone penetrating member is provided which can be set on piping or the like with a one-touch operation as well as a method of injection-molding the fire protection zone penetrating member. One expanding slot is provided on a cylindrical body made from thermally expanding graphite, thermally expanding rubber, or thermally expanding resin as a main ingredient thereof. The slot extends in a longitudinal direction. A piping inlet section is formed at an entrance of the expanding slot so that piping can be set in or taken out from inside the member by means of a one-touch operation. The fire protection zone penetrating member has the configuration as described above and is manufactured with an injection molding machine. The cylindrical body as a main body of the fire protection zone penetrating member may have an oval cross section, so that the fire protection zone penetrating member can be applied to piping having a diameter in a wide range.

  • Patent number: 5200011
Abstract: An engineering method of providing a lining onto the internal face of conduits for gas, city water, etc. that are buried underground. This lining work shall entirely be done from the portions exposed above ground. The distance of the supply pipe to the service tee is measured. The lining tube is set to a length that is slightly longer than this distance. The lining tube is turned inside out inside the supply pipe. As a result, a slightly longer length of non-reverse portion is left inside the supply pipe by the service tee. This non-reverse portion is helpful when cutting the rewinding tape that is tied to the lining tube after the insertion of a cutter. Next the heating tube shall be reversed similarly, and a hot water hose is inserted for circulating hot water in the heating tube. The aforesaid lining tube coated with the thermosetting adhesive is bonded onto the internal face of supply pipe. Next the heating tube is pulled out and the rewinding tape of the lining tube is cut and removed.

  • Patent number: 4704897
Abstract: A method of locating a leak in a block of pipes comprises the filling of the pipe with inert gas and the sealing of the pipe. Thereafter, suction is applied to the pipe for drawing air or atmospheric gas into the pipe through the leak. Care is taken to insure that the block of pipes is sealed, except for the suction port and the leak position. Once a layer of air or atmospheric gas is established in the pipe near the leak position, inert gas is drawn from the pipe by the pump, in a direction toward an oxygen or atmospheric gas sensor. By doing this, the layer of air or atmospheric gas is moved along in the pipe from the leak position toward the oxygen sensor. A measurement is taken of the volume of gas being drawn while the layer of air or atmospheric gas is being moved along the pipe. The oxygen or atmospheric sensor indicates when the layer of air or atmospheric gas has arrived.

  • Patent number: 4489659
Abstract: A girder for supporting a movable body has a truss structure of a cross-sectional shape forming an isosceles triangle with a horizontal base. The truss structure is formed of three main tubes of a circular cross section that are located in positions corresponding to respective corners of the triangle and extend continuously over the length of the girder. A plurality of branch tubes of circular cross section are fixed at their ends to respective pairs of the main tubes by joint pieces, such that three branch tubes lie in a plane extending through the respective joint pieces perpendicular to the longitudinal axes of the main tubes so as to form the isosceles triangle. A rail support is secured to each main tube of the base of the isosceles triangle at a position disposed upwardly and outwardly of the center thereof, and a rail, along which the movable body is traversable, is supported on each rail support.
