  • Patent number: 4591247
Abstract: An eye refractometer comprising a measuring target projection optical system for projecting a measuring target image to the eye fundus of a patient's eye by means of a pair of beams of light from a measuring target; a rotating device for rotating the pair of beams of light around the optical axis; a measuring target image-forming optical system for forming a target image of the beams of light projected through the measuring target image projected to the eye fundus; a detection device for two-dimensionally detecting the position of the target image formed by the image-forming optical system on a plane perpendicular to the optical axis; and an operating circuit for obtaining a refractive power of the eye along a radial line passing through the centers of the pair of beams of light by means of the signal from the detection device.

  • Patent number: 4261082
Abstract: A slide fastener is provided with flanges projecting forwardly of the front or diverging end portion of a slider body to form a V-shape. The flanges define a pair of diagonal guide faces for guiding foreign matter inwardly toward the central bridge portion of the slider body. Fastener element-receiving openings are formed by the edges of the flanges which also form the guide faces. If foreign matter, such as waste thread, is lodged between teeth of the fastener elements, it is guided along the slider guide faces from the outer edge of the slider to the central bridge thus removing the foreign matter. As a result, jamming of the slider is prevented.

  • Patent number: 4236284
Abstract: A solid slide fastener capable of effecting strong union which carries out the engagement and disengagement of fastening elements from right-angle direction with respect to a direction where external force is mainly given to tapes at the connection of the elements, and which can maintain strong connection by completely avoiding the escape of the elements towards the direction of tapes.

  • Patent number: 4203279
Abstract: A timepiece which permits freely adjusting the level of sounds produced therein and given out thereof. In this timepiece, the sounds produced in a mechanical unit contained in a timepiece body are conveyed to the outside of the timepiece via a sound level adjusting means by utilizing mechanical vibrations or vibrations of air.

  • Patent number: 4133066
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a self-locking spring nut is disclosed herein. In this method, a spring nut is tapped in its stretched or compressed condition, where a lead or pitch of the spring nut of a helical form is increased or decreased, say 0.5 to 6%. Accordingly, when a bolt is inserted into the spring nut thus prepared, then threads on the bolt undergo a compressive or tensile stress by the spring nut.As a result, the spring nut may be locked on a bolt in any position. This method utilizes an elasticity of the spring nut to be locked on the bolt, rather than interference between the female and the male threads on the nut and bolt, respectively, for instance, interference caused by deforming the configuration of threads or changing a pitch of a male thread relative to that of a female thread. Accordingly, the self-locking nut of the invention may be repeatedly used, without being damaged.

  • Patent number: 4121326
Abstract: A slider for use in a slide fastener prevents jamming of a foreign matter within the slider between fastener elements and inner element-guide portions of the slider. The slider has a diverging end and a contracted end, and the diverging end has two openings which are partitioned by an interconnecting web. The two openings lead to two channels which are joined together in the half portion of the slider on the side close to the aforesaid contracted end. The separated fastener elements secured to fastener tapes, respectively, and introduced through the aforesaid channels into the slider are brought into engagement with each other in the aforesaid half portion of the slider. In such a case, a foreign matter, such as a piece of cloth, often jams between the fastener elements and the inner element-guiding portions of the slider.

  • Patent number: 4103525
Abstract: A key and a lock in a lock device having variable bit and ward patterns, respectively. The key has two pieces of bit members, one member of which is slidably fitted in a groove defined in the other member, while the other is stationary. The lock has ward members cooperative to those of the key, one of the ward members being movable, and the other being stationary. Thus, when the key is inserted into the lock and turned to its angularly displaceable end, and the position of the movable bit member of the key is varied, then the cooperative movable ward member in the lock may be moved thereby accordingly. The both movable members are then rigidly fixed in desired position. Thus, the lock can no longer be opened by a duplicate key or a master key. Alternatively, the two bit and ward members in a key and a lock may be so designed as to be movable, respectively.
