Publication number: 20070009769Abstract: A magnetic recording medium including a magnetic layer 93 containing ferromagnetic powder and a binder, a support 91, and a backcoat layer 94, provided in this order, and being obtained by slitting to width a magnetic material of broad width and continuous length. The magnetic recording medium has no ridge protruding above the surface plane of the magnetic layer along the slit edge thereof. The magnetic recording medium achieves large recording capacity, is free from the tape pack problems such as appearance of a radial pattern and the output reduction problem, produces no fine scrapings in high speed running, which would cause head clogging and dropouts, thereby exhibiting good running durability and electromagnetic characteristics, and is particularly useful for computer data storage applications.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 10, 2006Publication date: January 11, 2007Inventor: Minoru Kanazawa

Patent number: 5160590Abstract: An electrolytic processing method for electrolytically processing the surface of a metallic member. A paste containing an electrolyte is prepared by mixing a paste-forming agent with a liquid electrolyte. The paste is placed between the metallic member and an opposing electrode. The metallic member and the opposing electrode are connected to an electrical power supply so that an electrical current is made to flow between the metallic member and the opposing electrode through the paste containing electrolyte, whereby the surface of the metallic member is electrolytically processed. Descaling, passivity treatment, coloring, polishing, plating and other electrolytic process can be performed on any type of metallic member at any desired place, by suitably selecting factors such as the compositon of the paste, condition of the electrical power supply and so forth.Type: GrantFiled: October 3, 1991Date of Patent: November 3, 1992Assignees: Kawasaki Steel Corp., San-ai Oil Co.
