  • Publication number: 20040097644
Abstract: A reaction product of (I) an aqueous emulsion of a copolymer of (a) 5-50 wt % of an ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid monomer and/or the salt thereof, (b) 0.05-20 wt % of ethylenically unsaturated sulfonic acid monomer and/or the salt thereof, and (c) other ethylenically unsaturated monomers polymerizable with the monomers (a) and (b), provided that the total of monomers (a), (b), and (c) is 100 wt %, the copolymer having a Tg from −30° C. to +20° C., and (II) a polyvalent metal compound. The reaction product is useful as a floor polish excelling in durability, adhesion to substrates, and recoatability that are well balanced with removability with an alkali, and decreased TVOC due to absence or low content of a low boiling point coalescent agent and plasticizer.

  • Patent number: 6541114
Abstract: Composite particles capable of forming a coating excelling in weatherability and, in particular, stain-proof characteristics, a composite particle dispersion composition containing the composite particles and excelling in film formability, and a method of preparing the composite particle dispersion composition. The composite particles contain (i) polymer particles having 2-70 wt % of a polymer phase (a) of the core and 98-30 wt % of a polymer phase (b) of the shell, and (ii) a polymer of at least either an organosilicon compound or organometallic compound present at least either on or near the surface of the polymer phase (b), wherein the polymer phase (a) and the polymer phase (b) have different monomer compositions.

  • Patent number: 6476108
Abstract: An aqueous coating composition comprising (A) an aqueous dispersing material which is a copolymer having a glass transition temperature (Tg) of 80° C. or less which is obtained by the copolymerization a specific unsaturated carboxylic acid, (meth)acrylic acid alkyl ester, and other monomers and (B) a specific aminoalcohol compound in a specific proportion. The aqueous coating composition is safe due to absence of heavy metals, produces excellent gloss and has a fine external appearance when coated, and exhibits superior durability and water resistance which are represented by black heel mark resistance and anti-scuff properties. The composition is particularly useful as a floor coating material.

  • Patent number: 5657640
Abstract: An air conditioner for exchanging heat from a refrigerant to the outside and adjusting at least one of room temperature and humidity to desired temperature and humidity and having a 1/f fluctuation function for controlling an air supplying means for supplying conditioned air to the room so as to vary the air supplying amount in multiple levels corresponding to a designated reference air amount and irregularly. A reference air amount of the air supplying means can be designated and there is an air amount control for controlling the air supplying means corresponding to the designated reference air amount, and a fluctuation width designates a fluctuation width (volume of the air amount) corresponding to the air amount designated. When the 1/f fluctuation function is employed, the fundamental functions (coolness, warmness, and so forth) of the air conditioner are improved. In addition, the noise of the air conditioner is reduced and the comfort of the user is improved.

  • Patent number: 5592335
Abstract: A camera lens barrel for a camera includes first, second, third and fourth lens groups with a diaphragm located between the second and third lens groups. The second and third lens groups are connected, while the first, third and fourth lens groups can move relative to each other along the optical axis of the camera lens barrel. A diaphragm driver is positioned radially outside of the second lens group, while a lens shift driver device, including the horizontal and vertical lens shift drivers, is positioned radially outside of the third lens group. The diaphragm driver and the lens shift driver device are connected to a control unit via a flexible printed circuit. A power transmission extends from the diaphragm driver to the fourth lens group. The power transmission is connected to the diaphragm driver via a pin. When the pin is rotated, the angular rotation of a pin is transmitted to the fourth lens group to focus the camera lens barrel. Thus, the overall diameter of the camera lens barrel is reduced.

  • Patent number: 5559570
Abstract: A camera having an anti-vibration sensor positioned so as to reduce the effect of electrically generated noise on the anti-vibration sensor. The camera includes a camera body having first, second and third portions, the second portion for coupling a photographic lens barrel to the camera body and being between the first and third portions. An anti-vibration sensor is positioned on the first portion of the camera body. An electrical noise generating source is positioned on the third portion of the camera body. In this manner, the photographic lens barrel acts as a shielding member when the photographic lens barrel is coupled to the second portion of the camera body.
