  • Patent number: 7141319
Abstract: A surface processing method for processing the surface of an insulating article in which an ion-implanted surface-modified layer is effectively formed on the article 2. In surface processing the article 2 of an insulating material, an electrically conductive thin metal film 50 is first formed on the article surface. A pulsed voltage containing a positive pulsed voltage and a negative pulsed voltage is applied to the article in a plasma containing ions to be implanted to implant ions in the article surface. This implants ions at right angles to the article surface to generate a surface-modified layer 51. There is no possibility of the article 2 being charged up due to application of a pulsed voltage.

  • Publication number: 20060146094
Abstract: A liquid ejecting head having a plurality of heat evolving elements formed on an integral substrate without being divided into more than one part, so that it is capable of controlling the direction of liquid ejection. The liquid ejecting head has heat-energy evolving elements (22) that evolve heat energy to eject liquid. The heat-energy evolving elements (22) are constructed of an integral substrate, assume a zigzag pattern (in plan view), and have conductors or electrodes (36) connected thereto at the turnaround part of the zigzag pattern, so that they are divided into main parts (22a, 22b) to evolve heat energy to eject liquid. Each of the heat-evolving elements has thereon a nozzle through which liquid is ejected.

  • Publication number: 20060119630
Abstract: In a liquid-ejecting method for ejecting liquid contained in a liquid chamber from a nozzle as a liquid droplet group, the ejection amount of each liquid droplet of the continuously ejected liquid-droplet group can be stabilized corresponding to a wide frequency band of a pulse signal. Also, when one pixel is formed with a plurality of liquid droplets using a head capable of deflecting the ejecting direction of the liquid droplet, the image quality is improved by reducing the landing positional displacement between plural liquid droplets for forming the one pixel.
