Patent number: 7353500Abstract: In a method for testing a program, repeated measurement on branches that are frequently taken is prevented, thereby avoiding unnecessary overhead. An information processing device includes a coverage measurement control program for determining whether the number of times an instruction of a measurement target program has been executed due to execution of the measurement target program is equal to or larger than the maximum allowable number of measurements set for the instruction; and a coverage measurement program for incrementing a value in a field for the instruction by one to indicate the number of times the instruction has been executed, the coverage measurement program being called if the number of times the instruction has been executed is smaller than the maximum allowable number of measurements.Type: GrantFiled: May 2, 2005Date of Patent: April 1, 2008Assignee: Hitachi Software Engineering Co., Ltd.Inventors: Akira Ioku, Motoaki Satoyama, Tatsuo Isobe, Koji Doi, Minoru Koizumi

Publication number: 20080057951Abstract: A sender of a message can transmit a message to an unspecified user merely by specifying a condition of space without specifying a recipient of the message, using an information processing terminal transmitting a message not with a user address to specify a user but with an area address (a condition of space) to specify an area within an electric wave reachable range of a radio base station; and a server converting the area address to a user address which specifies a PHS terminal currently located in the area represented by said area address and transmitting the message with a converted address to a switching equipment.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 22, 2007Publication date: March 6, 2008Inventors: Emiko Kobayashi, Tomoichi Ebata, Minoru Koizumi, Katsumi Hanashima

Patent number: 7295512Abstract: A system for use with communications according to TCP, or a similar protocol, includes a sender host, one or more routers, and a destination host. Each router includes means for generating acknowledgement packets and translating addresses associated with data packets. When a data packet is received by a router, an acknowledgement packet is returned with a source address corresponding to the router and a destination address corresponding to the sender host. The sender host perceives the acknowledgement packet as having been sent by the destination host. As the acknowledgment packet is sent by the router, and not the destination packet is sent by the router, and not the destination host, this system allows acknowledgment packets to be received on a shorter timescale, reducing the effects of a link delay. Although the route between the sender host and the destination host is divided into multiple connections, the hosts perceive a single, conventional connection.Type: GrantFiled: June 11, 2002Date of Patent: November 13, 2007Assignees: Hitachi, Ltd., Hitachi Information Technology Co., Ltd.Inventors: Yukihiro Takatani, Naomichi Nonaka, Minoru Koizumi

Patent number: 7142512Abstract: According to the invention, techniques for controlling the quality of each communication service in a network automatically according to measured information of network traffic are provided. In a representative embodiment, a network measurement controlling system is provided according to the present invention, which comprises a control server, a router, and a meter connected to a network. The meter receives packets from a network and measures the number of packets, and the like, according to preset measurement rules, and transfers measured data to a control server. The control server holds control rules including its control policy for assuring the quality of each communication service, analyzes measured data transferred from the meter, and transmits control commands. The router controls the QoS automatically in real time according to the status of the network by receiving control commands and controlling communication service quality.Type: GrantFiled: May 15, 2000Date of Patent: November 28, 2006Assignee: Hitachi, Ltd.Inventors: Emiko Kobayashi, Tomoichi Ebata, Minoru Koizumi, Chiho Kitahara

Publication number: 20040107126Abstract: A key of a building and a tool may be required for responding to various incidents that occur in targets to be processed. The maintenance engineer closest to the target mat not carry the key and tool. Optimum selection of the maintenance engineer cannot be achieved with current locations of the maintenance engineer candidates and of the target. Location information on a key and tool required for processing an incident that occurs in a target to be processed is managed. Additionally, when at least one maintenance engineer who processes the incident is selected, in accordance with a predetermined rule that location information on the maintenance engineer candidates, on the target, and on the key and tool required for the process request should be considered to select at least one maintenance engineer who processes the incident, the maintenance engineer is selected.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 1, 2003Publication date: June 3, 2004Applicant: Hitachi, Ltd.Inventors: Kenji Kataoka, Toshiichirou Sasaki, Tomoichi Ebata, Minoru Koizumi

Patent number: 6693533Abstract: In order to allow efficient use of bandwidth in communication paths in a surveillance system, the surveillance system has an operation unit which assigns fixed bandwidths to each of the communications taking place between camera nodes, which transfer image data at a uniform rate, and monitor nodes. A fixed bandwidth is assigned to, all communications taking place between the operation unit and sensor nodes, which generate alarm information at a non-uniform rate. If there is an increase in network traffic, bandwidth allocations, for communication between the camera nodes and the monitor nodes are reassigned so that bandwidth for these communications is reduced. The camera nodes use the bandwidth assigned to the camera nodes to transfer image data. The sensor nodes transfer alarm information using any bandwidth.Type: GrantFiled: December 13, 2002Date of Patent: February 17, 2004Assignee: Hitachi, Ltd.Inventors: Tomoichi Ebata, Chiho Kitahara, Minoru Koizumi, Toshiichiro Sasaki, Yoshiaki Adachi
