  • Patent number: 7365887
Abstract: An image sensor unit has an electric discharge light emitting lamp for producing an illumination beam. The lamp includes a first electrode and a second electrode facing each other and defining a discharge space between them along the longitudinal axis of the lamp. A first light emitting layer and a second light emitting layer are provided in the discharge space so as to face each other and to cover the first and second electrodes, respectively. A dielectric material is inserted between the first electrode and the first light emitting layer, and between the second electrode and the second light emitting layer. At least one of the first and second light emitting layers is arranged so as to define an uncovered region, in which at least one of the dielectric material, the first electrode, and the second electrode is exposed to the discharge space.

  • Patent number: 7102290
Abstract: A discharge light-emitting device includes a transparent first substrate, at least two first electrodes formed on the first substrate, a transparent second substrate, at least two second electrodes formed on the second substrate, sidewalls configured to form a discharge space with the first substrate and the second substrate so that the at least two second electrodes are inside the discharge space, at least two first fluorescent layers formed on a discharge space side of the first substrate, and at least two second fluorescent layers formed on a discharge space side of the second substrate.

  • Publication number: 20050017625
Abstract: Light emitted from first fluorescent layers 30 and second fluorescent layers 31 located on both sides of the central part extending in longitudinal direction of first substrate 22 and second substrate 23 is reflected at an original 43 located on the opposite side of a discharge space of the second substrate 23. Then, the reflected light goes through the central part extending in longitudinal direction of the first substrate 22 and second substrate 23, and is converged into the lens 44 disposed on the opposite side of the discharge space of the first substrate 22. The reflected light thus converged is then detected by a sensor 46. As a result, brightness can be improved due to the light sources being the integrally formed fluorescent layers on both sides, eventually making it possible to reduce the cost.

  • Publication number: 20040075873
Abstract: An image sensor unit (1) has an electric discharge light emitting lamp (2) for producing an illumination beam. The lamp comprises a first electrode (22) and a second electrode (23) facing each other and defining a discharge space (2D) between them along the longitudinal axis of the lamp. A first light emitting layer (20) and a second light emitting layer (20′) are provided in the discharge space so as to face each other and to cover the first and second electrodes, respectively. A dielectric material (21, 2B) is inserted between the first electrode and the first light emitting layer, and between the second electrode and the second light emitting layer. At least one of the first and second light emitting layers is arranged so as to define an uncovered region (D, D′), in which at least one of the dielectric material, the first electrode, and the second electrode is exposed to the discharge space.

  • Patent number: 6479120
Abstract: Defects of printed patterns occurring during screen printing are repaired with high efficiency by employing a defect repair sheet in which a material layer for repair is formed on a transparent sheet and an adhesive layer is formed on the transparent sheet in order to cover the material layer for repair. The defect repair sheet is pressed on a defective portion of a predetermined pattern formed on a base by printing, thereby transferring the material layer for repair to the defective portion. The transferred portion is then subjected to, for example, a laser irradiation, so that the adhesive layer transferred together with the material layer for repair is vaporized and the material layer for repair is fired or heated and hence evaporated.

  • Patent number: 6097149
Abstract: On a first substrate provided on a display surface of a plasma display panel, bus electrodes (12a, 14a) in X and Y electrode lines (12, 14) forming a pair of display electrode lines are formed with an Ag material containing a black additive (RuO.sub.2, etc.) by a screen printing. This prevents external light from being reflected at the surfaces of the bus electrodes (12a, 14a) on the display side of an FP substrate (10) to improve the display contrast. The bus electrodes (12a, 14a) may be formed as a multi-layer structure. In this case, for example, the lower-layer bus electrodes are formed with a black metal material and the upper-layer bus electrodes are formed with a light-reflecting material layer, which improves light utilization efficiency and further improves the contrast.
