  • Patent number: 4954675
Abstract: A switch operation indicator is disclosed which comprises a frame fitted with a push-type switch having a drive member which is locked into a pressed-in position by a first pressing action and unlocked to return to an original position by the next pressing action; a push button fitted in the panel of the frame so that the button can be pressed in; a coupling bar which couples the button and the drive member to each other and has an operating notched portion; an indication opening provided in the panel adjacently to the button and an indication member attached to the frame so as to be swung, along with the movement of the bar, to be engaged with or disengaged from the notched portion and is provided with an indicating portion which alternatively faces or does not face the opening as the indication member is swung back and forth by the repeated pressing actions. Alternatives include an optical guiding version and a vibration-clamping version.

  • Patent number: 4905487
Abstract: A steering locking apparatus for a vehicle is designed in such a way that the rotation of a key rotor located at an unlocking position to a locked position by the rotation of a key is prevented by a restricting lever and the prevention of the rotation of the key rotor is removed by pressing a pressing button so as to allow the key rotor to be rotated to the locked position. In a state wherein the pressing of the pressing button is prevented by operating an electromagnetic solenoid under predetermined conditions and thereby engaging a plunger supported by a plunger of the electromagnetic solenoid with the pressing button, the load applied to the pressing button is received by a car body through the stopper plate. In consequence, no load is exerted on the plunger.

  • Patent number: 4879230
Abstract: The present invention relates to plasmids whose hosts can be Escherichia coli and some kinds of yeasts, namely, shuttle vectors, as well as to processes for producing said plasmids. There are provided in the present invention (1) plasmids containing an autonomously replicating sequence of Candida maltosa, Leu 2 gene derived from Saccharomyces cerevisiae and an ampicillin resistance gene and (2) plasmids further containing a tetracycline resistance gene as well as the genes described in (1).The plasmids (shuttle vectors) of the present invention can be utilized as follows. A useful foreign gene is inserted into plasmids of the present invention; using the resulting new plasid, Escherichia coli is transformed and cultured in order to obtain the plasmid in a large amount; and using this plasmid, Saccharomyces cerevisiae or Candida maltosa as a host is allowed to produce useful substances such as hormones and enzymes on a large scale.

  • Patent number: 4857460
Abstract: A cycloheximide resistant gene of the present invention can be produced by cultivating yeast belonging to Candida genus and by cleaving a cycloheximide resistant gene from the yeast using restriction enzymes XbaI and Sau3AI.By incorporating the cycloheximide resistant gene together with the gene for useful substance into a plasmid, the transformant producing useful substance can be readily detected.

  • Patent number: 4789412
Abstract: A cobalt-base alloy comprises 0.2-1 wt % C 0.4-2 wt % Si, 0.2-1.5 wt % Mn, 5-15 wt % Ni, 20-35 wt % Cr, 3-15 wt % W, 0.003-0.1 wt % Ni, 20-35 wt % Cr, 3-15 wt % W, 0.003-0.1 wt % B, 0.05-1 wt % Nb, 0.01-1 wt % Ta, 2 wt % or less Fe, 30 ppm or less oxygen, 100 ppm or less nitrogen, and the balance of 45 wt % or more Co, wherein the content of Si is larger than that of Mn. The alloy is in a form of casting and has a structure containing a eutectic carbide and a secondary carbide dispersed therein. The cast alloy is produced through solution treatment at 1,100.degree.-1.200.degree. C., and aging treatment at 950.degree.-1,050.degree. C., and cooling rate after the solution treatment and after the aging treatment is 150.degree. to 300.degree. C./h. A gas turbine nozzle is made of a casting of the above-mentioned alloy.

  • Patent number: 4605057
Abstract: A mold for casting particularly a core, is produced by mixing refractory particles with colloidal alumina to give a slurry, filling said slurry in a pattern having water absorption properties, solidifying the slurry, followed by drying and firing. The resulting mold, particularly core, has high dimensional accuracy with no cracks.

  • Patent number: 4426864
Abstract: A cylinder lock including a rotor casing formed with a groove and an elongated through-opening, a rotor rotatably received in the rotor casing, tumblers which are respectively formed with projecting ends engageable with the groove and slidably fitted into the rotor, a tumbler blocking member slidably inserted into the elongated through-opening, a plunger and a plunger driving device. By the above arrangement, the cylinder lock can be positively unlocked either by using a key or without using the key and instead using the plunger driving device and driving the tumbler blocking member.

  • Patent number: 4333325
Abstract: A steering shaft locking device has a locking rotor rotatably mounted in a housing which is key actuated. A movable piece is moved radially outwardly of the rotor when a key is inserted therein, but is free to move inwardly when no key is present. A cam on the end of the rotor moves a lock bar transversely of the rotor against the action of a first spring. A projection on the edge of the lock bar engages one end of a lock shaft for moving it in one rotational direction from a neutral position, at which it is held by a second spring which is weaker than the first spring, and the other end of the lock shaft has a shape such that when it is moved in the one rotational direction, it moves away from the movable piece, and when it is moved in the other direction by the movement of the lock shaft by the first spring, it moves the movable piece, and thus permits the lock bar to move past the one end of the lock shaft.
