  • Patent number: 6340055
Abstract: A tube for a heat exchanger has notch portions at a longitudinal direction end portion to be inserted into a header tank. Further, several passage holes are provided in the tube to extend in a longitudinal direction of the tube in which refrigerant flows. The notch portions are formed by cutting parts of the tube to be defined by cut surfaces. The passage holes are not provided at portions corresponding to the cut surfaces. Therefore, the passage holes are securely prevented from being crushed and cut when the notch portions are formed by cutting. As a result, joining failure between the tube and the header tank can be prevented.

  • Patent number: 6258234
Abstract: Air fuel ratio sensor for use in an exhaust gas purification system for an internal combustion engine. The sensor has an outer and inner cover 12 and 13 for protection of lead wires 16, 18 and 19 to a detecting element 3 and a heater 5 of the sensor, a rubber seal for 2 for obtaining a sealing between the covers and the lead wires and a water repellent filter 36 for obtaining a seal between the inner and outer covers 12 and 13, while keeping an air ventilation capability of the space inside the covers. For receiving the lead wires 16, 18 and 19, the seal 2 is formed with holes 20 such that the minimum thickness between the holes and the minimum thickness between the hole and an outer surface of the seal is 1 mm or more. A crimping of the outer cover 12 is done so that a deformation of the seal 2 in a range between 10 to 20% of the outer diameter is obtained.

  • Patent number: 6233969
Abstract: In a decompression device-integrated heat exchanger, a pressure-reducing unit for reducing high-pressure refrigerant of a refrigerant cycle, and an inner heat-exchanging unit for performing heat-exchange between high-pressure refrigerant before being decompressed in the pressure-reducing unit and low-pressure refrigerant after being decompressed in the pressure reducing unit are integrated to each other. The inner heat-exchanging unit has a high-pressure tube through which high-pressure refrigerant flows, and a low-pressure tube through which low-pressure refrigerant flows. Both the tubes are wound around a case of the pressure-reducing unit, and are brazed to the case on contacting portions therebetween. Further, in each tube, wall thickness of the contacting portion is made thinner than that of the other portion. Thus, the decompression device-integrated heat exchanger has a reduced weight, while having a simple structure.

  • Patent number: 6055972
Abstract: An air-fuel ratio sensor of a limit current type is used for an air-fuel ratio feedback control. When the air-fuel ratio sensor is in a semi-activated state, the air-fuel ratio sensor is driven into an electromotive force generating mode by a current externally applied thereto thereby to shift an electromotive force changing point so that an air-fuel ratio at which the electromotive force changes stepwisely is shifted from the stoichiometric ratio point to a lean zone. When the air-fuel ratio sensor is in a completely activated state, the air-fuel ratio sensor is applied with a voltage to produce a limit current varying with an air-fuel ratio so that a feedback control is performed based on the advanced control theory by using a linear current output characteristics.

  • Patent number: 5762771
Abstract: An air-fuel ratio sensor comprises an oxygen concentration sensing element, a housing for holding this oxygen concentration sensing element, and protecting covers with gas holes. The protecting covers comprises an inside cover disposed closely to the oxygen concentration sensing element, and an outside cover surrounding the outside cover. Flange-like peripheral portions, formed on the protecting covers, are fixed to the abutting face of the housing by a caulking operation. These flange-like peripheral portions are disposed alternately along a same closed curve around the oxygen concentration sensing element, so that they are not overlapped with each other.

  • Patent number: 5749046
Abstract: A signal level measuring apparatus measures a level of a satellite signal from a geostationary satellite as received by a receiving antenna and provides an output to determine whether the antenna is correctly directed to the satellite. The apparatus is disposed between a converter associated with the antenna for converting the satellite signal into an IF signal and a tuner for demodulating the IF signal. The apparatus distributes and divides the IF signal from an input terminal of the apparatus into two output signals. One of the output signals is coupled to an output terminal of the apparatus, which, in turn, is coupled to the tuner. The other output signal is applied to level detector. An output from the level detector is compared with a reference signal. Depending on the comparison output, the state of light emission of a light-emitting device varies.

  • Patent number: 5604611
Abstract: A hologram includes an optically transparent base plate having first and second opposite surfaces. A hologram element is provided on the first surface of the base plate, and has a predetermined holographic pattern. An optically transparent member has first and second opposite surfaces. The first surface of the member faces the hologram element. An arrangement serves to prevent light, which successively passes through the transparent base plate, the hologram element, and the member and is then reflected at a boundary between the second surface of the member and an atmosphere, from travelling back to the hologram element.

  • Patent number: 5425937
Abstract: Hair treatment compositions, hair damage protective agents and hair care products, each contain an active ingredient comprising an antibody which binds to human hair keratins which constitute intermediate-diameter filaments. This antibody can be produced efficiently and in a large quantities from the milk of a bovid animal immunized with said keratins. As this antibody binds to the hair specifically, it is effective in preventing the elution of proteins from the hair, imparting smoothness and flexibility to the hair, and improving the adaptability to combing and luster of the hair.
