  • Patent number: 6899652
Abstract: A belt-type continuously variable transmission is provided with a housing end wall that is formed with a bearing mounting hole, through which one end portion of a primary shaft penetrates, a rolling bearing that rotatably supports, in a state that it is fitted in the bearing mounting hole, the one end portion of the primary shaft having a primary pulley, a flange that projects from the inside circumferential surface of the bearing mounting hole on the housing inward side, a bearing retainer that is provided on the outside surface of the end wall and cooperates with the flange to pinch the bearing, and a cover that is connected to the housing and covers the one end portion of the primary shaft and the bearing retainer.

  • Patent number: 6461269
Abstract: A forward-speed/reverse-speed changeover mechanism 6, serving as a motive-force connection/disconnection mechanism, is accommodated into a housing member 8 fixed to a casing 1. To the forward-speed/reverse-speed changeover mechanism 6 an input end of a primary shaft 3 is connected. The housing member 8 rotatably supports the primary shaft 3 via a bearing member 11. On an imaginary line intersecting the primary shaft 3 perpendicularly and passing through the bearing member 11, a load-receiving element 1b, 8b is provided between the housing member 8 and the casing 1. The tension of a belt 17 is received by the load-receiving element 1b, 8b. As a result, it is possible to provide a bearing structure of a continuously variable transmission enabling holding the bearing members of the primary and secondary shafts at their regular positions against the tension of the belt and maintaining an optimum belt-alignment, thereby enhancing the durability of the continuously variable transmission.

  • Patent number: 5803444
Abstract: A coiled wave spring obtained by winding a corrugated wire into a coil shape, wherein mutually overlapping top portions and mutually overlapping base portions of the spring are in mutual contact and predetermined gaps are defined between mutually overlapping slope portions which connect the top and base portions, the first loop of the spring, that is, on the upper side, and the second loop, that is, on the lower side, are in mutual contact in an axial direction thereof only between the top portions and between the base portions, and the gaps are defined between the slope portions to prevent mutual contact. When the spring receives a load and undergoes deformation, the top portions and the base portions come into mutual contact, respectively, but hardly generate friction. Since the gaps are defined between the mutually overlapping slope portions, friction does not occur at these portions, either.

  • Patent number: 4930610
Abstract: A mounting structure is provided for a one-way clutch in an automatic transmission of the type that a carrier of a planetary gear mechanism and a casing of the transmission are connected together by way of a one-way clutch allowing the carrier to rotate only in one direction along a central axis of rotation of the planetary gear mechanism. A coupling member coupling the carrier and the one-way clutch to each other is splined at an end portion thereof, which is located on the side of the carrier, with the carrier so as to allow the carrier to slide along the central axis of the rotation. A limiting member is provided to limit the range of sliding movements of the coupling member.
