Patent number: 8681489Abstract: A storage unit is provided with a plurality of sub storage units configured to include a plurality of hard disk drives, an enclosure, a printed wiring board, a power supply device, and a cable holder. The sub storage units each operate separately. The enclosure is provided in the array of the hard disk drives so that the distance can be shorter between the enclosure and each of the hard disk drives. With the provision of the cable holder, communications cables can be both brought closer to the printed wiring board. With such a configuration, the coupling point among the communications cables and the printed wiring board, and the enclosure can be favorably reduced. The resulting storage control apparatus can be mounted with a larger number of storage devices, thereby being able to maintain good signal quality.Type: GrantFiled: May 17, 2012Date of Patent: March 25, 2014Assignee: Hitachi, Ltd.Inventors: Midori Kurokawa, Akihiro Inamura, Tsuyoshi Sasagawa, Takahiko Iwasaki, Toru Yoneyama, Minoru Shimokawa, Kiyoshi Honda

Patent number: 7911788Abstract: With the storage control device of the present invention, it is possible to mount a larger number of storage devices and to cool them effectively. A plurality of sub-storage units are provided within one storage unit. Each sub-storage unit includes a plurality of hard disk drives, a plurality of enclosures, and a plurality of power supply devices. A cover is divided into a front cover which covers over the front side of a case, and a rear cover which covers over the rear side of the case. Shield portions are provided on the upper sides of the hard disk drives and the enclosures. By these shield portions contacting the adjacent modules (other disk drives and other enclosures), it is possible to reduce the negative influence upon cooling air draft passages within the case, even when a cover has been removed.Type: GrantFiled: January 21, 2009Date of Patent: March 22, 2011Assignee: Hitachi, Ltd.Inventors: Tsuyoshi Sasagawa, Akihiro Inamura, Rei Arikawa, Minoru Shimokawa, Kiyoshi Honda

Publication number: 20100118483Abstract: A storage unit 3 is provided therein with a plurality of sub storage units 4. The sub storage units 4 are each configured to include a plurality of hard disk drives 5, an enclosure 6, a printed wiring board 7, a power supply device 8, and a cable holder 9. The sub storage units 4 operate each separately. The enclosure 6 is provided in the array of the hard disk drives so that the distance can be shorter between the enclosure 6 and each of the hard disk drives 5. With the provision of the cable holder 9, communications cables 9A and 9B can be both brought closer to the printed wiring board 7. With such a configuration, the coupling point among the communications cables 9A and 9B and the printed wiring board 7, and the enclosure 6 can be favorably reduced. As such, the storage control apparatus of the invention can be mounted with a larger number of storage devices, thereby being able to keep the signal quality.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 15, 2009Publication date: May 13, 2010Inventors: Midori Kurokawa, Akihiro Inamura, Tsuyoshi Sasagawa, Takahiko Iwasaki, Toru Yoneyama, Minoru Shimokawa, Kiyoshi Honda

Publication number: 20030151878Abstract: An electronic apparatus includes an electronic device including electronic circuits, a first connector connected to the electronic circuit, and static electricity removal means, and a control device which includes a plurality of second connectors for connecting the electronic device and which is electrically connected to the static electricity removal means when the electronic device is being inserted and is electrically connected to the electronic device only via the first connector and the second connectors when the electronic device is mounted. Thus, it is possible to gradually discharge the static electricity when the electronic device is inserted into the control apparatus.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 6, 2003Publication date: August 14, 2003Inventors: Azuma Kano, Takuji Ogawa, Masahiko Sato, Satoshi Yagi, Katsuyoshi Suzuki, Minoru Shimokawa, Kenichi Tateyama, Noboru Sakurai, Koichi Ono, Takuya Okaki
