Abstract: An airbag unit is provided that can be easily installed and removed. The airbag unit includes an airbag that covers, upon being unfolded, at least a part of a hood or a windshield outside a vehicle, a gas generator that ejects gas into the airbag, a cover bottom member that accommodates therein the airbag yet to be expanded and the gas generator, a cover lid member that covers the cover bottom member in which the airbag is accommodated, and a bracket removably supported by the body of the vehicle, and removably supporting the cover bottom member and the cover lid member.

Abstract: A body structure for a vehicle having a toe board opposite to a rear section of a front wheel, a side frame extending in a longitudinal direction of the vehicle and a bumper beam extending in a widthwise direction of the vehicle and connected with a front end of the side frame, includes an impact absorbing component provided in the side frame for absorbing an impact applied from the front side of the vehicle and a front wheel rotation guiding component provided at the bumper beam for guiding a front section of the front wheel so as to rotate inwardly when an impact is applied to the bumper beam.

Abstract: A plastic optical transmittable fiber having improved optical transmission loss and flexibility and good heat resistance. The fiber comprises a cladding of a copolymer comprising 70 to 99.5 mole % of 4-methyl pentene-1 units and 30 to 0.5 mole % of units of an .alpha.-olefin of 2-24 carbon atoms, the refractive index of the core being higher than that of the cladding by at least 0.01.
