    Abstract: An inverter that has one or more transistors for supplying current to a load with one or more phases is provided with an overcurrent protection for the transistor. The changing rate for reducing the base current to the transistor upon the detection of an overcurrent is reduced according to a separate delay circuit so that the transistor will not be destroyed by an over voltage that would otherwise occur due to a rapid drop in current passing through the transistor and the inductance of the load circuit including the transistor.
