A printer performs printing by ejecting ink droplets to an upper surface of a long band-like base material (M). The printer includes an ejection head and a cleaner. The ejection head has an ejection surface in which a plurality of ink ejection outlets for ejecting ink droplets are arranged in a width direction (X). The cleaner cleans the ejection surface. The cleaner includes a gas ejector. The gas ejector ejects gas to the ejection surface from a position away from the ink ejection outlets in the Y direction.

    Abstract: A winding apparatus, such as a slitter rewinder, designed to shorten a distance between an unwinding shaft and a winding shaft, thereby downsizing the apparatus and attaining a significant cost reduction. To that end, in unwinding a web from the unwinding shaft, either to wind it onto the winding shaft or to slit it in the elongate direction into plural narrow-width webs and separate them alternately vertically or longitudinally, followed by winding onto respective winding shafts, the unwinding shaft is driven at a preset web speed, the winding shaft is driven at a preset web tension, guide rollers for guiding the web are disposed between the unwinding and winding shafts to thereby leave the guide rollers to rotate freely by contact with the web without their direct driving.

When changing the sheet web from a full wind roll wound up on a turret winder to a new core tube, the new core tube is revolved in reverse to the rotational direction of the turret, the sheet is cut between the full wind roll now turned by the turret and the new core tube revolving in reverse to it at a winding location, the adhesive side of the end of the cut sheet in the running direction is pressed and attached to the surface of the new core tube under reverse revolution and concurrently, the attached sheet is folded back, and the sheet web continuing from it is wound onto the new core tube, with its adhesive side being a surface side.

The pairs of core-holding frames are suspended to be slidably movable. The automatic delivery apparatus is disposed below the pairs of core-holding frames and has a roll delivery carriage including a wrapping device for cut trailing ends of unloaded full rolls, a carriage for transferring the full rolls outside the machine, a conveyor for carrying and discharging the rolls, and a lifter for the conveyor, the wrapping device having swing rollers capable of moving toward and away from each other so as to conduct the wrapping and to carry the full rolls onto the conveyor.

    Abstract: An end-trimming apparatus for roll-like products. The apparatus trims both ends of a roll comprising a sheet-like material wound up on a core, particularly, stretchable one such as plastics film, by cutting off the irregularity of both the ends, finishing them into flat faces. It comprises a conveying means for carrying rolls horizontally to a given location, a supporting means of a pair of chucks for supporting the roll at both the ends, while providing it with a rotation in the winding direction of the roll, and a cutting means provided close to the pair of chucks, including a pair of disk cutters arranged co-axially and having respectively separate shafts parallel with the shafts of the chucks, the disk cutters being capable of moving toward and away from each other and of reciprocating in the direction at right angle to said toward-and-away motion.
