Abstract: A method for enabling users to access multiple application programs contained in multiple application trays is provided. The method includes receiving a first touch sensitive input from one of the users for accessing one of the application trays associated with the user if the application tray is hidden from view on the display screen, wherein the first input includes the user's pulling the application tray handle until the application tray becomes fully visible on the display screen. The method also includes receiving a second touch sensitive input from the user for starting an application program, wherein the second input includes one of the user's pulling out of the application tray an application icon associated with the application program or the user's touching the application icon. The method further includes, in response to the second input, generating and displaying a window for providing a user interface for the application program.

Abstract: In a multiuser touch sensitive device including an orientation module capable of providing touch interfaces and a touch sensitive display screen for displaying a content wherein the device enables users to provide touch sensitive inputs through the display screen and wherein not all users are oriented in a same direction with respect to the device and to the content, a method for changing an orientation of the content without changing an orientation of the device is provided. The method includes receiving a touch sensitive input from one of the touch interfaces, wherein the input is provided by one of the users using single object for changing the orientation of the content; and processing the touch sensitive input at the orientation module for changing the orientation of the content such that the content can be oriented towards at least one of the users for viewing the content at a desired orientation.

Abstract: In a multiuser touch sensitive display device including a touch sensitive display screen capable of displaying a plurality of windows for interacting with a plurality of users simultaneously, each window providing a user interface for a running instance of an application program run by one of the plurality of users for receiving touch sensitive inputs and displaying content output of the application program instance, and a plurality of output ports that can be coupled to a plurality of peripheral devices including audio output devices for generating audio outputs, wherein the multiuser touch sensitive display device runs an operating system module that can simultaneously interact with a plurality of instances of one or more application programs, a method is provided for processing simultaneously received user inputs through the plurality of windows displayed on the touch sensitive display screen.

Abstract: In a system including a server that manages multiuser touch sensitive display devices in a closed network using descriptive tags, each device having a touch sensitive display screen, wherein each of the devices is tagged with tags, a method for selectively delivering messages to display devices selected from the tagged display devices, is provided. The method includes: providing a first interface for a user to browse and select the tags; upon the user's selection of one or more tags, presenting to the user a first set of devices that are tagged with the selected tags and displaying information pertinent to the devices in the first set; providing a second interface for the user to modify the first set based on the information such that the user can select a second set of devices from the first set; and delivering messages of the user's selection to the second set of devices.

Abstract: In a touch sensitive display system that can simultaneously receive inputs from and provide outputs to users through a touch sensitive display screen and that includes an Internet browser that can provide a controlled access to the Internet, wherein the browser includes a user interface for providing browser windows and a configuration interface including configuration panels, a method for controlling a user's ability to browse the Internet using the browser in accordance with a set of rules that places restrictions on Internet sites to which the user can navigate, is provided. The method includes: providing the configuration interface to a first user for configuring the browser with a set of rules and storing the rules in the browser; providing the user interface to receive from one of the second users an Internet site address to which the second user desires to navigate after the second user logs into the system.

Abstract: A method is provided for mounting a multiuser touch screen display device having a touch sensitive display screen to a platform such that a plurality of users can simultaneously interact with the multiuser touch screen display device running at least one application program for each of the plurality of users through the touch sensitive display screen. The method includes making an opening defined on a surface of a platform that can receive the multiuser touch screen display device such that the display device is accessible to users when the display device is mounted; engaging with the platform a holder configured to hold the multiuser touch sensitive display device such that the holder can receive the multiuser touch sensitive display device through the opening; and mounting the multiuser touch sensitive display device to the platform by placing the display device in the holder through the opening on the platform.
