    Abstract: Provided is a silicone hydrogel contact lens including a polymer composition prepared by polymerization of a composition for forming a silicone hydrogel contact lens comprising: about 10 to about 40 weight % of a silicon-containing macromer, about 1 to about 20 weight % of polyethylene glycol having a molecular weight of about 200 to about 1,000 g/mol, and a crosslinking agent or an initiator, wherein the polymerization is carried out by thermal polymerization at a temperature of about 100° C. to about 110° C. or UV photopolymerization in a manner that at least about 95% of polyethylene glycol is removed from the polymer composition.
